Great lock packed with features
Recently added this lock to replace a Yale HomeKit lock. Was looking for something that works with a key, multiple platforms and easy for all of the family to use. This hits all the needs. Has apple home key, fingerprint, codes, and works with Alexa for any android users.Setup was a little difficult, I am using a m3 hub, as well as apple devices.Overall great product, especially being able to use existing exterior keyed door lock.

Best Smart Lock We’ve Had
I’ve used several smart locks, and most of them were fine but always a bit buggy. This one is the best by far. Installation was easy, and the lock’s response time is incredible. With most other smart locks they take a second to respond, but the Aqara unlocks super fast. Haven’t ever had any issues with alignment or it not locking. Love that the keypad has physical buttons, and the finger print sensor and Apple homekey capability are great too. Battery life has been good so far, have been using it for about 2 months and haven’t needed to charge it yet.

I’m using this on the EU mortice type of door. The Installation is not flush with the door, but it is secure. Don’t be worried about videos that show the pock moving a bit when it closes the lock. This thing is rock solid. I 3d printed a spacer to go behind the lock so it looks flush now. It’s not required, but it looks better to me.You’ll want the aqara app to configure the lock. It’s no required, but all the features aren’t accessible through homekit. For instance, my door has a spring latch, and I needed the aqara app to set the the spring latch open feature. Now I can use my fingerprint/nfcCard/appledevice to open the door at any time. You can’t change that option strictly through the Homekit, so that’s why the aqara app is needed.I’m very pleased overall with how this lock is working.

FALSE ADVERTISING! Doesn’t work remotely without spending more $$ and even then!
What a nightmare! Almost a month later, after upgrading the Wi-Fi, numerous calls for support, and many hours of trying to integrate this lock with our system, we still cannot operate this lock remotely.Install was ok. Fairly straightforward, though you will have to have/purchase a separate deadbolt, unlike the YALE we had before. Most importantly, this Aqara lock absolutely required a separate hub device, even though it claims not to. After calls for support and even upgrading our wi-fi suggested in troubleshooting, it still wouldn’t connect with Alexa. We finally gave in and ordered the Aqara HUB. Unbelievably, it still won’t work with Alexa.If we had any idea of the aggravation this thing would cause, we never would have bought it. TOTAL REGRET.

Great lock, above expectations
I just got the Aqara smart lock, and Iâm really happy with it. Mounting it is not as hard as it seems, but it helps to watch a video on YouTube.Installing the lock in the app is straightforward, though updating the firmware takes a while. To pair it with HomeKit, I had to remove the battery and press the SET button first. Also, make sure you have IP6 enabled in your router settings. The installation is simple, but the instructions are limited and not in Dutch. The app could use some refinement.It works great with Apple HomeKit and Apple Homekey. You can choose to always be able to unlock the lock with your phone, even if itâs off. Thereâs also an option to require FaceID or your passcode before Homekey works. The fingerprint scanner is very fast and I use it most of the time. I also installed another cylinder with a panic function within a minute so that I can always open the door with a regular key. Note that Amazon sells the version without the NFC tag, but there are other versions available that include it, and they come with a wood-colored front plate.Once connected, the HomeKit integration is excellent, but you adjust the lock settings in the Aqara app. For instance, I set it in HomeKit so that the lock automatically locks when I leave home. Apple Homes wonât let you automatically lock the door as you leave your home, it always asks for confirmation. But I found another way to lock it automatically without any confirmation, just by making an automation that if a non used outlet turns off (this one turns off by leaving my home), the U200 has to be locked. This only works when the outlet is on, so when I arrive home, the outlet turns on again, also have an automation for this outlet to be turning on several times a day to make sure the auto locking works always without any confirmation.In the video, the lock is shown in the fast mode, but thereâs also a slow, quiet mode. You can choose the modes in the app, or you can click the âï¸ button and then open or close the lock slowly.Despite many negative reviews here, I am very satisfied with it and think the lock is definitely worth the price.

We’ve tested many different smart lock brands and models and this is our top choice for anyone with a Thread network. Rechargeable battery, separate keypad with fingerprint and NFC/HomeKey support, and a fast acting power-efficient lock. My only complaint is that the lock body is narrow enough that for some doors we need to caulk around the body to fill the very edges of the previous hole.
