Lightweight, packable, effective!
I was searching for a packable poncho for the fall season and saw this one was on sale. It was lightly raining for about an hour during a 6mi hike, so I threw it on over my backpack. It worked flawlessly at keeping me dry and protected from the rain/wind. I was shocked at how mobile I could be even with my arms tucked inside the poncho so my hands wouldn’t get wet.I’m super happy with this! I love how compact it gets, it’s so convenient and effective!

Waterproof and good coverage
The pros: durable, waterproof material with enough coverage to go over me (5’3) and a 60L pack and still be at knee length in front, longer in backThe con: only had snaps on one sideI used this poncho for a short trip on the PCT. Needed it on day one, windy and pouring rain going up the side of a mountain. I was a little skeptical when I bought it because nothing ever seems to be truly waterproof, but this thing was great. Yes, I was sweating underneath it, but that was preferrable to the cold rain, plus the big sleeves let you vent a bit of heat. I hiked for about 3 hours in the wind and rain with this and it kept me and my pack dry. I did make some modifications with velcro to keep the bottom from blowing around too much. I was very grateful I had the velcro as this shipped to me with snaps only on one side, so I needed to create closure on the other side purely with velcro. That was unexpected and a bit saddening as otherwise, this poncho did everything I needed. The brim is floppy, but if you wear a brimmed hat underneath, it’s perfect. I loved the higher closed neck with the drawstring, especially with a hat it snugs right over and doesn’t go anywhere. I chose the teal version with the reflective stripes and the front pocket, loved the reflective stripes but never used the pocket. For how inexpensive this poncho is I wasn’t expecting much, but it worked perfectly when I needed it.

Short guys and gals – this fits
Iâm a short guy (5â 5â on best days) and no clothes from Amazon ever fit me. Seeing a lot of the 6â commenters say it hits below knees, I was afraid these ponchos would be to my ankles and drag all over. Nope. These come just below my knees. Maybe Iâm thick enough to balloon it a few inches sideways? Eh, Iâm not exactly fat either, probably would be considered on skinny side in USA. Long story short, it hits at just below my knees. For guys and gals 6â and over, Iâd imagine these will be mid thigh, mileage may vary, but these seem perfect for me.The pros: fabric seems better than I hoped. Thick enough and very light. One thing they donât seem to mention a lot is that the few rain ponchos(that look like this one) that sell better than this one on Amazon have a 3000mm rating while this one has 5000mm, which means this will likely last longer in rain before wetting out; this was my primary reason I got these over those. Kudos! These fold up super small. They should shrink the storage bag size. Probably made the bag bigger for the people who canât be bothered to fold and roll and instead just stuffs it back in. Hope people donât do that, and try to get as many uses as possible(landfills and all that). Fold and roll and thereâs too much room left over on the storage bag, but thatâs good. Storage bag is roughly size of 16oz water bottle but about 1/3 of it is empty space with the poncho inside. Very small. The pull strings around neck feel rugged for such a (half disposal) item. Price was very reasonable. I got the light grey one primarily by trying to get the lightest visible color for the lowest price. Looks alright.Cons: Nitpicking but ofc, the rain brim on the head is kind of a joke. All floppy floppy and way too big. Haha. Was expected. Not bothered. Snaps seem like they will rip out easily but just be careful or just stow them with them closed all the time? I think I will and hopefully will still be easy to dry like that. Like I said, for very tall folks will likely land mid thigh bordering on waist and may not work so well(Iâm guessing 6â 3â and over these may feel kinda ridiculously short) but works perfect for me. Thumbs up.

It wasn’t as wide as I thought it would be. Covers to about ten inches above my wrist. Not quite as long as I would have liked but happy with it just the same. What it covers stays dry.Great product

We went on a pilgrimage. 800km later, mostly in the rain, my boyfriend and I can attest that it is even better then a Goretex, because it does not keep the sweat inside. The fabric quality is ok.

I waited to write a review until it really rained in my area. Well, it really rained – category 3 atmospheric river downpour. I wore it with the waterproof zippers done up… I was bone dry.It also blocked the wind very effectively.It’s well made, though I do wish they’d used a little more reflective tape – perhaps on the sleeve seams & some on the hood, otherwise it’s nearly perfect.Another thing to note – I got this to go over a Comfy brand sherpa oversized hoodie as an alternative layering system to a parka (which I tend to overheat in) & it fit perfectly.Highly recommend.
