A perfect blend of function and style
The 2024 Amazon Echo Spot is a perfect blend of function and style as a smart alarm clock. New Echo Spot 2024 – Not just for the bedroom.
Seems to me the marketing of this new Echo is pitched to be used in the bedroom as a modern version of the old nightstand alarm clock radio. Which it absolutely is. And a great version of that. It displays a few cool versions of the clock to choose from. It includes day/night indicator, temperature, weather icon, day, date and month. And looks really sleek and unobtrusive.
But this little bad boy is so much more. We use it in the family room / living room. Itâs that good looking. The microphone is improved over previous versions, so it can hear commands clearly from across the room. And the sound for music is phenomenal.
I got it as an upgrade from an older model and am very happy I upgraded. Would highly recommend.

Amazon hits the Spot
Loving the Spot as it has a nice yet subtle display that is easy to read with nice features that are easily programmable
The sound is rich and clear, an upgrade from my echo dot 5th generation. It linked up to my Govee smart bulb with no issues and works great via voice commands or using the app. I also like that I can link my smartphone to it and play all the music on my phone thru its speakers which sound much better than my phone’s speakers.
I would have given 5 stars except that the weather temperature on the display doesn’t keep up real time with local forecast as it seems rather slow to update unless/until I ask Alexa the weather at which time it updates to what Alexa says that gives me the weather temperature that matches my outside conditions. No big deal as I usually ask Alexa anyway. I did try to troubleshoot that issue with Amazon tech with no real solutions. At any rate that’s my only issue with the Spot as everything else works and looks great and I am completely satisfied, especially seeing how I got the spot on Prime days for 55% off regular price making it even more worth the price.
Update: the issue with the display showing the correct temperature has gotten worse as it now says 85° on the display and it’s 96° outside according to local weather. I asked Alexa and it says it’s 96° outside which is correct but the display hasn’t changed and it still says 85°. Everything else is fine so if you want a good Alexa smart device that does everything except give the correct weather then it’s a good buy but only if you can get it at a discounted price. It would be worth the full price if everything worked as it should (meaning the weather bon the display).

Great little alarm clock
I have two of these devices and am very pleased with them. They are alarm clocks but with the power of Alexa running them. I can play music to help me fall asleep and they control my smart switches. I’m not a fan of routines, but I do like a device that can answer questions or respond to requests.
These devices cannot play videos which also means they do not show ads. I get tired of Amazon showing me offers of items I just happen to mention in conversation with others (but when asked, Alexa says she doesn’t spy on me, good to know). Echo Spots are compact and fit well with any counter or nightstand. I own a blue and a white Spot and I may buy another at some point when Amazon has special pricing, which typically drops the price to $44. On sale they are a very good deal and for a small device the speakers sound good, at least good enough. Settings allow me to dim the screen at night and there are several choices on how to display the time.
I’m glad Amazon came up with this design over the earlier Echo Dot with a clock, which was never easy to view. The speakers aren’t as powerful as the full-size Echo, but given its compactness, it has its niche in the Echo lineup.

Works as Advertised
Let me start out by saying, these things are a breeze to setup up. All you do is download the app and follow the on-screen instructions. I had no issues setting up either one of the devices I bought and they both connected to my wifi flawlessly. I love the professional looking display and voice commands work very well aswell.
Also, the sound quality on these is pretty good considering the cost. Sound quality isn’t JBL Charge level good but it’s definitely better than phone speakers. They are loud, clear, and even have eq settings you can set through the app. You can even set these Echos up to play music through all of your Amazon related devices at the same time which can be useful and save you a ton of money.
Prior to purchasing these gadgets, I read mixed reviews on a lot of the things I mentioned, but I haven’t experienced any issues. Some of the settings can be a pain to find, but overall, the app will walk you through setup step by step what you need to do to get them working and connected to your wifi. If you have connection issues, you need to check your network settings or your wifi range.
My 2 complaints are, 1) the devices came caked in dust even though the box was sealed; and 2) the buttons could feel a little higher quality. I don’t use the buttons at all due to voice commands and control through the app, but that may be an issue for some users.
Something else I noticed was the horrible reviews linking the devices to Spotify. I didn’t have these reported issues myself, so they could’ve been fixed with a firmware update, but it’s definitely worth mentioning.
I feel like a lot of these issues people are having are either network issues, or user related issues. If you take your time and follow the on-screen instructions, you won’t have any issues. At the very least, my experience was great with them and yours will be too. I highly recommend this product.

I bought this clock for my bedside table and itâs perfect. Itâs simplistic design with core Alexa features make this ideal for any room. I have been looking for a clock that would have a dim option for during those late/early hours so that the clock wouldnât glow at night and this one is great. I set a time frame that I want to put my clock on sleep mode and the time changes to a dim red (so easy on the eyes if I wake up in the night). I also like that you can personalize the clock face (i.e. colours, weather, etc) to whatever suits your style. The speakers are also on par with other Alexa devices (clear, good treble/bass). I donât have anything negative to say at this point. I did have a bit more trouble getting it set up, there were some pairing issues with the app but it eventually worked. Overall, I would buy this again for other bedrooms in my house.

El modelo en sÃ, es muy vistoso, tiene acabados muy elegantes y de buen material, el sonido tiene una diferencia de 3 decibeles más en comparación con el echo dot 5ta., realmente no es mucha la diferencia, sin embargo se alcanzan a apreciar un poco más los bajos.
La pantalla touch definitivamente le aporta mucho, se puede cambiar la apariencia del reloj, los niveles de brillo y control de música.
El tamaño es un 30% más grande que el echo dot 5ta., supongo que es para compensar la ubicación de la bocina, debido al tamaño de la misma.
El voltaje de uso en promedio es de 2.5 watts con brillo máximo…ya en modo música vol. 10, alcanza un promedio de 3.6 watts, lo cual ahorra bastante energÃa para la potencia que mantiene!
El modo nocturno es conveniente si te molesta la luz de la pantalla por las noches, la pequeña desventaja es que esta no se puede apagar en su totalidad, pero realmente no es molesto, ya que la pantalla tiene tecnologÃa de ahorro y baja luz.
El mostrar las carátulas de las canciones es bastante bueno, sin embargo: no me agradó, que al reproducir música, las carátulas de las canciones se mantienen todo el tiempo.
Solución: le tienes que dar la indicación: “Alexa, inicio” para que nuevamente muestre el reloj.
Por lo que, si de alguna forma te interesa escuchar música y ver tu reloj al mismo tiempo desde una distancia de más de 2 mts. Será casi imposible visualizar el pequeñito reloj que aparece sobre las carátulas de la música…espero tengan alguna actualización a ese detalle.
En general estoy muy contento, definitivamente vale la pena!

El diseño de este ultimo echo (spot) es increible, yo lo compre en blanco por el contraste del negro de la pantalla, pero estoy seguro que en los demás colores de igual manera se verá muy bonito.
Hablando de funcionalidades:
– Básicamente funciona de igual manera que cualquer otro echo/alexa, aunque puede variar una que otra cosa debido a la nueva pantalla integrada.
– Las animaciones que se muestran en diferentes ocasiones (al pasar un minuto en el rejol, al poner musica, al crear una alarma, etc., etc.) son muy bonitas, puedes personalizar tanto el reloj con diferentes diseños (que probablemente con el tiempo se agreguen más) y con diferentes colores (magenta, violeta, verde aqua, azul, naranja y lima).
– La pantalla es táctil/touch y por esto, puedes acceder a configuraciones rapidas dentro del mismo Echo Spot (para una configuración mas detallada, abre la app de Alexa), ya sea, cambiar el color y diseño del reloj, regular el brillo de la pantalla, bajar/subir volumen, etc., etc.
Puntos malos:
– El Echo llegó en una bolsa de carton con burbujas (al menos a mi y a varios más) siento que al ser un dispositivo electrónico, deberÃa llegar al menos en una caja de cartón con mucha más protección
– La pantalla no es un circulo como se podrÃa pensar, es un rectangulo en el centro de toda la parte negra. Cuando está el brillo alto o al máximo, se notan los bordes de esta. De lo contrario, en espacios obscuros/no tan iluminados, no se nota para nada.
Conclusión:
Por el precio que esta en este momento a miembros Prime, es una excelente opción. Como se aprecia en las fotos, se nota mas grande que una Alexa con reloj (olvidé el nombre) pero no es tanto como para estorbar, el tamaño es ideal. valió mucho la pena por el simple hecho de ser mucho mas elegante, con mas funcionalidades y obviamente, mas nueva y actualizada.
Seguramente con el tiempo se agreguen funcionalidades para facilitar muchas mas tareas. Compra esta Alexa si quieres tener un reloj digital, una bocina de buen sonido y volúmen y obviamente, una asistente para tus tareas :)))

Estoy encantado con el nuevo Amazon Echo Spot (modelo de 2024). Su diseño elegante y compacto se adapta perfectamente a mi mesita de noche, y la calidad de sonido es impresionante para su tamaño.
