Great scratch post for exercise and high-up views!
My cat loves this pole. She loves climbing trees, so this gives her a way to climb and exercise inside. The pole comes with multiple platforms and baskets, but we did not use most of them because our cat is a super athlete and just wants to climb the pole like itâs a tree. Itâs nice that the product is customizable like this so you can adapt and use only the platforms that you want/need. The basket at the top is our catâs favorite spot to sleep, and she hates all other cat beds. Also she is 11.5 lbs for reference. For the price, this is so great and we would consider buying many of them for different spots in the house. The only quality issue is that the rope is too sparsely wrapped, so over time it gets compressed toward the bottom of the pole and you get empty sections with no rope. Itâs still usable and the rope doesnât fully come off, but there are gaps (see photos). Iâm still giving it 5 stars because itâs a great price for what it is and I havenât seen another better option out there.Another issue that we ran into is that our ceiling is 7.5ft, so the pole was originally too tall to fit. We made it work by changing the order that you screw the pieces together. There is a short carpeted gray piece that is meant to go at the top, but we screwed it in at the bottom instead (see photo). This lets you make the overall pole shorter because then the long screw of the adjustable top piece can go deeper into the rope-wrapped section, whereas it would otherwise be limited by the shortness of the carpeted gray piece. Since we did it this way, we had to get another large washer to put at the top to stabilize the top basket. At first we had some stability issues and the pole fell down a couple times. Eventually we just turned the top piece very tight against the ceiling using more muscle power, and since then the pole has been stable for several months. We do not use any screwed-in anchors, and it is very nice that it stays up without having to use any screws.Overall we love the pole and our cat spends a lot of time using it.

Sturdy, Functional, and Cozy
This cat tree is great! The upper platform is high enough to satisfy my male cat’s climbing urges, while the bottom ones are low enough for my small kitten to jump and climb up. The basket resemble basketball hoops lined with fleece. They are (surprisingly) spacious and sturdy enough to comfortably hold my large male cat, however the basket sags, so I wouldn’t trust it to hold a cat that is much bigger than 10lbs. Both cats spend most of the day in the baskets, and my male no longer climbs and breaks our shelves. The rope posts are great, because it encourages both of my kitties to scratch while climbing. It also came with a free toy!Keep in mind that this cat tree is VERY tall. I have low ceilings, so it ended up not fitting. I simply left the top post off and anchored it into my wall with the provided tools. Also, the original design is flawed, as my cats could easily climb all the way up, but they became stuck about halfway heading down. I simply switched the direction of that middle platform, and it seems like the problem is solved. I actually bought this post off of a reccomendation and will definitely reccomend it again! Well worth the money!

Awful Instructions but very sturdy and nicely made.
I take one star away for the instructions. They could have easily been better written. It came with two nuts that I had no idea where to screw them to. Once I gave up trying to follow the instructions, I let my common sense take over. I have a dog so it was best for my cat beds to be at the very top which I was able to do.I purchase another cat tree similar but with no pouches at Walmart. The ceiling used a spring so it is not sturdy.THIS cat tree is tightened to the ceiling and then has a wall bracket for additional support. A great touch. Now when my cats are running full speed to get away from the dog, this tree does not move an inch when they rush up it. I live in a small apartment with limited space. This is perfect size and sits between my double closet doors. Seems easy to replace carpet and rope once cats tear it apart.

Made of cardboard…
I purchased this to replace a floor to ceiling tree that we loved. The cats just kept tearing the fake fur off. It had a spring loaded tensioner at the top to hold it in place. This appeared to be adjustable and flush to the ceiling and I mistakenly thought it had a tensioner as well. It only comes with mounted supports for the wall. We didn’t use those as we did not want to put holes in our wall. It stood for a month or so just from being snuggly fit between the floor and ceiling. Then it fell. We put it back in place and it seemed secure, fell again this morning and nearly took out my Christmas tree. Guess we are putting holes in the wall after all.It seems sturdy otherwise, surviving 2 falls and all. The cats love the hammocks. But the description should include more about how it is mounted. I would’ve purchased something else if I had known how it had to be mounted.Update: After trying to put the tree back in place, we discovered the center section was wobbly. We took it apart and realized the tubes are just pressed cardboard, the plastic cap with the bolts is just stapled in. The Staples were pulled loose and we had to reattach with screws. Very disappointed with this product.Update: fell again. I’m purchasing a new cat tree.

Would have loved if the upgrade had included hammocks as my girls loved the hammocks in the last one of these we had but the compact design it great and the girls are both using it so we are happy with it.
