Perfect Day Hiking Pack for Adult Woman
I know it says it’s for kids but I am thrilled with this little backpack for taking day hikes with my dog! I took a chance on this while searching for something small, unobtrusive, and water resistant for PNW hikes that wasn’t $50-60+ and it’s perfect! I went through sooo many reviews and even ordered and returned a few so wanted to add a review here to hopefully save others the trouble.It’s constructed well and no sticky zippers! In some areas the fabric isn’t quite as thick as a few of the name brand options I tried but it’s holding up really well and I haven’t had any issues after putting it through a lot of paces. The back and straps are padded and the straps are adjustable to make it a perfect fit. I am 5’4 with a small frame but I think someone a bit taller/wider than me could totally make it work. It’s superficial but I really like that the brand tag is small and simple instead of huge across the whole front of the pack. It also doesn’t look like an adult is wearing a kids backpack which is definitely a bonus.Everything inside was cozy and dry through a 20 minute light drizzle. Not sure I’d trust it in a downpour but haven’t tested it so maybe!The size was perfect for one 20oz and one 32oz Hydroflask plus a light, packable rain coat, my dog’s medium collapsible water bowl, and a few small snacks without feeling stuffed and uncomfortable against my back or straining the zippers. The mesh bottle holders on the sides will securely hold a 20oz Hydroflask too, I just haven’t needed the space. I put my wallet, phone, and keys in the front pocket.If you’re in the same boat and want a small hiking backpack that’s going to hold up I would absolutely recommend this one! Two friends who saw it already ordered their own and are super happy with them too.

Bought this for my son for camp and school and itâs been great, looks sporty and technical, good quality, not too big, good size pockets and a place to put his wattle bottle is nice. Super cute and good price.

This is a fantastic little pack! My 5 year old carries a larger water bottle, snacks, a small first aid kit, and some small odds and ends between the main compartment and the front pocket. We could fit a little more too, though we dont want it too heavy for him. Even with all of his gear the back support keeps it comfortable and not unevenly bulky. The material itself if definitely durable and has survived drops, scrapes, and as a good sitting cushion. It’s also one of the few smaller packs that has actual good breathability in the back and straps. We haven’t had any full submersion incidents (thankfully), but it has kept its content dry in light rain and on damp morning hikes.Having trekking pole loops is a great feature for a small pack! It is a little disappointing that it’s only a set up carrying one though. He carries his own homemade hiking pole for now, but having the set up for a real one is nice.The only complaint I have is that the side pockets are really only good for slimmer bottles and items. The material doesn’t allow enough stretch for much over a standard plastic one.If you’re looking for a pack for your own Jr. Ranger, pick this up! It fits his 6 inch taller sister as well and will be the main pack for a few years of growing too!

For the price, it’s pretty solid
My daughter is 4′ 1.5″ and needed a backpack for her outdoor/nature activities at school. Something that fit her still smallish frame, was tough enough to be chucked around in the dirt and forest, and could fit a good amount of kid gear. This bag seems to do the trick.On the plus side, it really is a junior/mini hiking bag — as opposed to being a massive, kids school pack … the kind with characters on it you see at Target. It fits just where an adult mini pack would so it’s comfy, doesn’t hang down, or slip off her shoulders.It’s the ideal size for our needs. Can fit her water bottle perfectly on the sides (a kids thermos brand one), and has two main pockets, one for pens/pencils and school stuff, and then another to fit her other gear needed for her micro hikes. The pull strings cords on the back are also a nice touch for carrying larger things she might find in the woods.That said, it is definitely on the small side relative to other backpacks. It’s really made for this express purpose of holding just enough stuff for such outdoor adventures. I would not recommend it for a child’s actual school bag, as it’s too small. It might be ok for a 3-5 year old, but even at 6 this would not work as a regular bag for our daughter. As an example, it barely fits (against the padding that touches the back) my daughter’s iPad with its case on. So it definitely would smash or crumple even an 8×11 folder or kids drawings.I was expecting a bit tougher/better quality but for 18bucks, it’s still feeling like a great deal. There is nothing noticeably off or cheap about it … just thinner material than anticipated, the straps are not clips but have to be threaded, and the zipper is not super smooth, but if you take some time and unfold the protective flaps, it’s totally solid.So yeah, not a universal for all kids pack, but more for hiking and day trips … not so much for school.

You just don’t get more quality than this little backpack. I bought one for my 3 year old daughter two years ago, and then I bought one for myself. They fit us both, and haven’t shown any bit of wear on them yet, and thats with two years of muddy and rough forest school!

This little rucksack is the perfect size for hiking for me. Iâm a small (size 6) lady and I find most rucksacks too big for what Iâm looking for- this is perfect. I can fit my lunch and small flask as well as a fleece or thin waterproof in the main compartment. The smaller front pocket fits my purse, keys, snacks for the dogs as well as room for slightly more. Room for a 500ml water bottle on each side too in the drinks holders. Very lightweight. Super happy with this.
