It has settings that go to the attachments on the clipper handle that are great. Did a great job on my Keeshhound. Not a big mess after clipping her. Great shedding comb. Pulls hair and dust off.

Fairly quiet on low (loud on high), works fine, but not the most convenient design
I’ve reviewed a number of these vacuum grooming kits, and normally my reviews are fairly long. I’ll try to keep this one shorter – I don’t recommend paying over $60 for this kit. The vacuum itself works fine, and it’s decently quiet on low speed, but it quickly gets loud as you go to medium and high. The vacuum hose is pretty short, so this will have to be close to your pet, meaning that there’s no great way to shield them from that noise.The attachments are pretty typical and work. The clippers seem to be built well, and they are far from the cheapest that I’ve used. This design uses rechargeable clippers versus having them be powered by the main unit, which is nice in that you can use the clippers (and paw hair clippers and nail grinder) separately without the vacuum, which can help with the noise issue. The downside is that you need to remember to charge them.The bin for hair is decently sized, and I have no complaints about that. What I don’t like is that there is no retention for the air filter that sits between the bin and the main unit, so it falls out every time that I take out the bin. It’s not difficult at all to put it back in place, so it’s just an inconvenience.Overall, if I’d never used any other models, I’d probably give this four stars because it does what it says it will. I just think that there are others out there in the (when not on sale) $100 price range that are a bit better.

Probably not worth it for Cats
I was curious to see if this Pet Hair Vacuum would solve the shedding issue I have in a house with six cats. I do brush them frequently, but end up with hairy combs and brushes which I need to pull the hair off to throw in the trash. I have allergies, and constantly handling the hair is annoying, plus slows down the grooming process. I thought, well, having the hair vacuumed up AS I brush is a great idea! However, that’s not really how this works. As you brush, certainly some loose hair may be sucked up, but the majority stays on the stiff comb until you press the button to retract the tines and the hair gets sucked into the vacuum. Yes, this means that you don’t actually have to touch the hair, but its not like I imagined…… constant brushing with the hair just being sucked up instead of collecting on the brush, or coming off and floating in the air. Granted, I am not sure how you could design a pet vacuum to do what I was imagining, so maybe my idea was not reasonable.Bottom line, though. The cats are scared of the noise, and they don’t like the feeling of the air rushing over their skin if you leave the vacuum on while brushing to catch the loose hair. You do, I guess, save a bit of time by being able to suck the hair directly into the cannister instead of having to pull it off and throw it away as you would with a regular brush, but you are also limited to that single kind of brush, instead of the variety of other hair de-shedder brushes that may work better for your cat.I wanted to try out the clipper to see if I could shave off some of the huge matts that collect on the rear area of my Norwegian Forest Cat. He is very hard to groom, and he gets knots on the back of his legs and his butt area that he can’t properly groom. Shaving them off is sometimes the only recourse, especially during shedding season when he loses his winter coat. Unfortunately, I found the clippers very awkward to use. The large plastic casing which would allow the hair to get sucked in got in the way of getting close enough and behind the large clumps of fur. Plus, the cat was not a fan of the noise, so all in all, I doubt this is going to get much use as a pet groomer.As far as things go, the vacuum has decent suction, and is definitely quieter than most. I think I would like this if I had a dog, but for cats the utility is pretty minor, and definitely not worth the price.
