My GSD got spayed and it has been such a good thing for her. At night I take the cone portion off and during the day when Iâm monitoring her Iâll just do the donut. It seems comfy for her and I like that to ensure it fits well you can put the collar through the loops and secure it better. Also itâs really adorable!

I purchased this Alternative Dog Cone for my Black lab who just got her spay surgery and itâs perfect! It blows up easily, itâs soft material like a pillow and fits well on her. I like that it is able to have a collar attach inside as well for extra securityThe zip on extra barrier is to help with keeping her from licking the stitches which I like. If your dog is an escape artist, I would not recommend
Iâm only giving this three stars only because it did not work for my dog. My dog has severe allergies and was able to get her paws through the donut and lick them.With that being said, if you have a dog that isnât going to fuss about the cone, itâs absolutely absolutely amazing. I felt that this allowed my dog to be comfortable without having hard plastic around her neck.Itâs also extremely adorable.

I have been on the hunt for the right cone for my large breed dog which has been SO hard to find one big enough for him. The plastic ones from the vet worked ok but he would go through so many of them because he was constantly running into things and I just felt bad for him with how uncomfortable it looked.Well this one is a glorified pillow. He loves sleeping with it because itâs so comfy for him. I love that it can be compact when not in use and that it is easy to take on and off.

The one looks to be much more comfortable than our last cone. We havenât needed to install the zip on shield yet, but itâs nice to have as a option and made us more comfortable with the purchase.

This item looked used when it arrived and was worthless.
The inflatable part is very flimsy and doesnât stay connected to the dog with the Velcro that they provide. Also, the outer plastic thing came wrapped separately with cellophane, which was very odd. That piece also never stayed on and had a bend in it that existed before arrived. Those pieces look like they have been used before would not buy from this vendor again.

My dog needed a partial mandibulectomy due to cancer, which means she lost the whole lower front half of her jaw. The cone from the vet was difficult to get off and on for eating/drinking (which is particularly messy now), and it was rubbing on her mouth/stitches constantly. If she accidentally banged into something it banged into her mouth and hurt her.This collar/cone is perfect – she can rest her head without touching the ground, which is more comfortable for her, she canât reach to scratch her face, it doesnât touch her mouth and she can see much better but it still protects the stitches from touching the ground. The cover is washable which is amazing for keeping the area clean (I bought 2 so I can wash one every night and have a clean one ready for the next day).The plastic is much, much sturdier than I expected – itâs the same quality as the vet one, but so much more comfortable! Itâs also nice and clear so she can see! (It kind of looks flimsy in the one picture but itâs how sheâs laying, itâs not flimsy at all!).I would recommend using an actual collar to help keep it on, it has loops you can thread it through. I also stuck a sanitary pad to the donut under her chin to help keep the fabric dry (easy to change several times per day too!).I ordered size XL, my dog is a 70lb Golden Retriever Mix and itâs a perfect fit. She seems much more comfortable with this one!

In preparation for her spay, I got a soft cone, spay suits and this inflatable collar with the visor. My dog has a clear preference for the inflatable, and can eat and sleep comfortably without being able to reach her incisions. The size ‘L’ fits my 50 lb poodle perfectly! I know she likes it because, before I tightened it properly, she wore it all day until her chin got itchy and she casually popped it off for a scratch. Then she brought it to me to put back on!The collar isn’t the cheapest solution, but it works very well and is for the most part well built. The long zipper to hold the visor on is a little flimsy but still effective, and the super-strong velcro on the visor may be too loud for sound-sensitive dogs. Mine had no issue. The visor itself is stiff enough that my dog can’t bend or move it enough to reach her incisions and isn’t so long that she can’t get her nose to the ground. perfect fit!
