Osprey Quality
I had heard that Osprey backpacks are good quality and I have wanted one for a while. I finally pulled the trigger on this 34L Tempest and the 30L also to evaluate which one fits the gear I need to carry. I am 5’1″ and have a small frame, and the WXS/S fits well. There are plenty of adjustment points that allow me to dial in the fit. I foresee making on-the-trail adjustments for comfort, but that’s a plus in my opinion. As others have mentioned, the water bottle pockets are not accessible while wearing the pack. That’s not a deal-breaker for me because I will use a water bladder on long hikes, and primarily use a water bottle for air-travel. I think as long as I don’t over-stuff the pack, it will work great as a carry-on bag. I plan to use it with a camera insert to double as a camera bag and carry enough personal items for an overnight trip. Oh, and I think the color is much prettier in person than in the photos.

Beautifully designed
I love this backpack, I used to have a Kyte Osprey that I treasured for years but unfortunately I left it behind when I made the big move to another state. I fell in love with the design of this backpack, it feels so comfortable, sturdy and light – fits me perfectly. The color is beautiful and the material is durable.I highly recommend this backpack especially for avid hikers and backpackers.

Extremely comfortable to carry.
We are hiking in a the Highlands of Scotland. Iâve never used a hiking backpack before. This one fits my back nicely and distributes the weight well enough that my shoulders donât get sore.

Awesome & lightweight!
Perfect for an 8+hr day hike if you also get the 3.0L water bladder. This pack will hold all you could need for a day & your camera gear as well.

This was my first time hiking hut to hut and this bag fit everything I needed for one week in the dolomites. It was as comfortable as can be with 10 kilos on your back, I suppose. Everything was easy to adjust. The front pockets are quite deep, so they fit a lot of stuff but can be annoying fishing something from the bottom out. Also it’s not a bag that’s easy to reach back to the pocket if you have a water bottle there. I used a water bladder so avoided that issue but still had to take the bag off if I wanted anything from the side pockets.I did via ferratas with this bag and I couldn’t look up when it was on because of the frame, even when it was half empty. I tried adjusting it all sorts of ways but it really blocked my head movements. Probably there are specific types of bags better for climbing/ferratas. I still like this one, I just should’ve done better research first!

This was my house for six weeks. Amazingly comfortable. Made my 7kgs seem like nothing. Surprising how much you can fit in it. Loved the lay out of the bag, everything seemed to have a place. The only thing I could fault was when using the full water badder, it was easier to put it in before packing the rest of the stuff. Otherwise, I really could not fault this.
