Does the job – few things I did wrong
These do the job although they do not suction at all on the floor of a crate, which is where I want my dogs to enjoy these. So they move around in there but do suction to tile floors. They aren’t super easy to clean but that was to be expected seeing the tiny grooves. I use peanut butter, apple sauce and mashed bananas – it’s the PB that gives me the problem b/c they can’t get it all out before they get bored with it. They last about 20ish minute for my two boxers.One mistake I made was storing them in a ziplock bag, I guess before they were completely dry or everything was clean. Mold grew and even with intense cleaning, the mold stained them… I still use them but it just doesn’t look good. Make sure you clean them well and dry before storing.

They are easy to clean (dishwasher safe), they suction to the floor, it takes a very small amount of peanut butter (or whatever treat you prefer) to keep your pet occupied as they lick every last morsel out of the indentations, handy to pack for trips.Worth every penny!

My teacup chihuahua is constantly licking, so these pads help her ease her licking. Iâll put liquids, doggy treats, and she loves licking away! I also like the suctions cups on the bottom that help the pad from moving while she uses. The quality is great, no complaints.

Not very durable, but I also have a puppy
These lick mats were decently priced and they suction very well to my metal sink and my ceramic/stone counter tops. However, I have hardwood floors so the suction cups arenât very effective at all when these mats are in use. My dog (1 year) is able to pick up her mat and take it with her to my living room rug in less than 30 seconds. My dog also has resorted to chewing holes in these mats when she canât get any more peanut butter off with just her tongue. I bought these thinking theyâd be a good tool to use to keep my puppy occupied for a little while so I can do things without her bothering me. I donât leave her completely unsupervised with them, but Iâm also not watching her every movement. Unless Iâm watching her very closely, I canât always differentiate between her licking the mat/picking it up with her teeth and her chewing holes in it. Itâs also difficult to supervise her closely enough when the suction cups donât work on my floors so she can go wherever she wants. My dog doesnât generally chew things and I think the reason she chews these mats is because thereâs peanut butter residue that she canât get any other way. These lick mats are pretty difficult to clean, but thatâs not unusual for this type of product. I have to soak mine in hot soapy water and then go at them with a scrub brush multiple times to get them clean. I have found that they donât get very clean in my dishwasher, even after soaking them and scrubbing them briefly beforehand. But like I said, this is common for lick mats like this, and these mats arenât harder to clean than any other type Iâve bought. (As you can see in the picture, theyâre pretty tough to get 100% clean.) My one real issue with these is that the material is quite thin so theyâre very flimsy. I have another lick mat without suction cups that I bought prior to these that is much more sturdy and she doesnât chew holes through that. I find myself using that one over these new ones because the suction cups donât work with my my floors anyway. Overall, if youâre willing to keep a very close eye on your dog while using these, you have a floor/surface these will suction to, and you donât mind using some elbow grease to clean them, Iâd recommend this product.

Suction cups stop working after few uses
2024 UPDATE: Updating to 5 stars because my dog and I love these things. I think it seemed like the suction was gone at first because if you freeze the pad and it freezes in a weird shape the suction isnât great. But freeze it completely flat and no problem. You donât even have to freeze the treats on the pad, it just makes for a longer licky-session for the dog. I love that this comes with two pads, each has 4 different textures, comes with a spatula/scraper, and is so easy to clean. I usually hand wash but have put them in the dishwasher. My dog gets very excited when he hears âlicky-pad timeâ! I usually put a couple treat types on at once and freeze. After trial and error, weâve landed at our favorites being beef or turkey baby food and spray cheese (I tried the Kong cheese at first but itâs expensive, and figured heâs getting so little of the cheese it doesnât matter if itâs the cheap grocery store kind). Canned pumpkin also worked but he wasnât as gung-ho for it. Just rinse it off when done to get the âchunksâ out, then run over the pad with some dish soap and dish brush. 2 minutes max. Let the dog lick the scraper clean before washing it. If I donât feel like washing it I rinse and put in the dishwasher, and use the second pad. The suction stays strong. It really sucks to my sink bottom when Iâm washing it!2023: Really liked the product at first. Dog likes it, easy to use and clean. But after just a few uses and hand washing the suction cups didnât work any more so now when he tries to lick the mat it slides all over the floor.
