TERRIFIC! Durable AND Great Price!
We tried the $21 green colored similar scratching post which APPEARS sturdier. However, I find this one works identically (and I save some $$$)! I have had several of these. The cardboard scratcher can be flipped over for double the use. Our cat is, um, “large boned” and can still stand on it no probs. (After it’s kicked by humans too much, you can use packing tape on the “frame” and is as sturdy as ever, btw.) I keep the old one in a 2nd location where our cat does “lighter” scratching. Although he does not play with toys on springs or sticks not dangled by humans as a rule, he DOES continually nuzzle the butterfly (“scenting” it, I believe?) on the older one while waiting for us to give him his treats. So HE even likes it more than others we’ve tried, lol! The incline does seem to encourage him (he never used the flat ones as much — even when I mounted one to the wall). Also, we put it butting against a piece of furniture (or you could use a wall) and it stays in place even on carpet under his most vigorous work outs. The cardboard piece is like 2 inches or more thick — like one of the thicker scratchers you rarely see at the stores in the replacement sections. We don’t even need to put the catnip on it for him, btw — another oddity as with other types I had to catnip them up to try to encourage him. (This one DOES seem to “soak in” some of the catnip scent during transit, I think, as with the last one we got he cuddled up to it and rolled on it and was just thrilled to death!?!) Cats are fussy and finicky about things, but this one is definitely worth a try in your quest as it is a real quality product at a great price!

Kitties love it!!!
My cats love this ramp. One sleeps on it, while the other bats the toy into her head so she’ll move. Then they “fight” over who gets to use it next.Easy to put together. It’s held up through kitty play time and kitty fights, nap time, and I’m gonna scratch your face off time. Our tuxedo cat weighs about 25lbs and this ramp has held up through her rampant running like a horse through the house and jumping on top of it while the other small cat is playing with the toy. It’s sturdy and is holding up after several weeks of playtime with both cats trying to claim their diva status. The only small complaint I have is that it moves relatively easily when placed on wood or tile floors. So to remedy that, we cut some easy grip shelf lining and placed it on the floor, then put the ramp on top of it. It helped keep the ramp in place for the most part. We move the ramp around to different areas of the house to keep the cats happy, when placed on carpet, we didn’t really have any issues of it sliding around. Will definitely be purchasing more of these.

Great Scratcher for Kittens
I foster kittens and love this scratcher for a couple reasons. 1) it is the perfect size for kittens learning the appropriate things to scratch. They kittens are drawn to the cardboard and it creates just enough elevation for them to jump/ play but not get hurt. 2) It is cheap, it is important when fostering to keep things sanitary. The price point on this lets me justify throwing it away and getting a new one between litters. Plus the cardboard by the time the kittens reach about 8 weeks old (when they go to new homes) is worn out and needs replaced anyway. With one cat it might last longer but 3-5 kittens will do a number on it in the few weeks they stay with me.Con: The butterfly falls out a lot. It sticks in the cardboard but stretches the “cell” out so that its hard to get it to stay if the kittens have knocked it out. And sometimes the spring stays but the butterfly itself gets easily detached. Honestly, sometimes I just discard this function of the scratcher as it isn’t that important and to me doesn’t add a lot of value to the product.

Great scratch post and ramp toy
I’m going to use the same words that I used for the whale that I also bought. I will change a few things but this way, I can save my fingers a bit. Here goes: Since I got four similar items, I might copy and paste a lot of this review so bear with me. Allow me to begin by stating that my cats, a Manx and a black and white mixed breed, have NEVER used as scratch post. I’ve tried everything under the sun. Well our kitties run inside and outside so, they do get to scratch on trees, etc., and on the couch (until we run them off) when need be. I got this ramp and 3 other deals and they have both scratched on ALL of them. This ramp is the most popular of all the scratch posts in terms of scratching only. They don’t really play with the attached toy though. They do use this to walk up to a little stool on which their water sits. At first, my cats were leery about using this and kind of looked at it in a funny manner. Then, all of the sudden, I heard our Manx going to town scratching on it. She does this in an odd way was she faces downward, actually, maybe that’s normal, now that I think of it. Plus, what is normal for a cat? LOL. The price was great and I really can’t say anything negative about it. I think some folks mentioned that this moves about due to the light-weight but, that’s fine as it just keeps them on the go. It’s not like it flies all over the room or anything but it doesn’t stay totally planted, of course, due to the weight. Plus, it’s a cute little ramp, with the retro stuff, and looks good in any location. I really recommend this for those who have had no luck with any other scratch posts. I began by giving the cats little treats when they’d scratch on the toys and that helped too. Hope this convinces anyone who is undecided to go for it!

Every cat I’ve ever had loves this thing

Shreds
It is not good on bare floor-slides around when used. It also shreds easily when used and leaves pieces of card board on floor.

Amazing!
I had tried several scratching posts and my 2 yr old cat had zero interest in them. She insisted on scratching the back of my computer chair or 1 of 2 doorway moldings. I was at such a loss until I got a flat/groove board and we made progress! This product did the trick! I’m very, very pleased!

My cat’s an addict to this, it doesn’t last long with him! haha He loves climbing on it and tearing it up. Best investment though because he doesn’t do his nails on our furniture. I definitely recommend this, I was surprised to see how much my cat loves cardboard. We bought a carpet one to see if he would like it, he doesn’t care, he wants Fat Cat Big Mama’s Scratch ‘n Play Ramp. Best part? Don’t need catnip, although when we add it, he just loves it even more.
