Perfect yoga mat but slippery
8/1/2016I have to change the rating once more again. After using it for a few months, i do not find this slippery any longer. It is dense, cushiony, and i am very happy with it.4/26/2016this is a follow up review after using this mat a few times. Initially I gave 5 stars to this mat soon after I received it just from the feel of it. But after using it a couple of times, I find its short coming. It is quite slippery. I don’t know why but I find my feet slipping when I do the warrior poses and down dog. Some of the reviewers mentioned that issue but I thought they probably did not know how to do the poses. But I find that to be quite bothersome. I will contact the seller and find out if there is any thing to remedy the situation. My two yoga mats are several years old and they are showing their age. So I looked up Amazon and found this mat with great reviews. I wanted a mat not too thin or too thick, high density, and has good grip. This mat satisfies all those specs I have been looking for. Beautiful slate color, and did not notice any odors like some reviewers mentioned. Perfect thickness, and high density, very firm – no squish at all. Kind of heavy due to high density but don’t mind a bit. I am going to use my old mat as under mat to give me the cushion I need for my knees and elbows. This is a steal for the price, so glad I found it with Amazon.

Good value and comfortable
I really like this mat. I’ve been regularly practicing yoga for about 3 years now (off and on for 5 years). I initially bought this mat because it was inexpensive, extra thick and long. And since I am 5’10” with wide hips, this is exactly what I wanted. I’ve been happy. I am able to hold many of the asanas even when I am sweating. The mat did have a funny smell when I got it but I simply wiped it down with a wet cloth, gave it a few hours to dry completely and then started my practice with it. The mat does get stained easily and it smells funny after about 5 yoga sessions. So I bought 3 more so that I will always have a math while the other dries. At $20 each, it’s easy to do. Plus I bought other mats in other colors so I have a mat a home and at my job so I can always get a little practice in. I also bought XL Bean Yoga Mat Bags to protect my mat from dirt, dust and the sun. It fits the bag perfectlyUpdate – June 2015I previously bought a beige mat. It was fine but after 3 years, several sessions in the park, my cat and dog walking across with muddy feet and my own dirty feet, the mat seemed permanently stained even after multiple washes. I tried shampoo, body wash soap, chlorine, detergent, multi-cleaner, etc. The stains faded but never completely went away. The mat didn’t smell funny but I was a little embarrassed to roll it out in class. I still use it at home for my own practice (I still love it) but decided to get a darker color. My only criticism is that I would steer clear from the lighter colors but the mat itself is still great and an important part of my practice.

Good mat, a little slippery at first, but very worth the price.
I got the orange and it looks just like the picture. I love that it’s extra long but somehow rolls up to a standard size. It didn’t come with the bad smell that some others have complained about but I wiped it down with warm water and a rag when I got it anyway. I found that for some reason after I wiped it down it was stickier than when I first got it but it’s still not the stickiest mat. My hands start slipping slowly but surely after a few seconds in downward dog. It feels like there is a slick coating on it. I expect after more use it will lose some of that slickness, hopefully. It seems like a very good quality mat that will last for quite a while.I wanted a thick mat because I’m bony and bruise easily. This mat is a good thickness for those just looking for something with a little more cushion. If you’re looking for a thicker mat because of injuries or something more serious than boniness this probably wouldn’t cut it and I’d recommend a thicker one. For my purposes though, I’m quite pleased. One thing to keep in mind is that the thicker a mat is, the more it starts to throw off your balance. I think this is a good middle ground between the most comfortable and the best balance.

A basic, narrow , matt that is comfortable and holds up well
This matt is great, it is comfortable (I use it on a carpet), provides a nice non-slip surface and seems likely to last.It is basic black and narrow, but that is exactly as advertised. A good value.

It was fun picking out a different color other than the boring …
I already had one yoga mat when I was given the opportunity to review this brand. The company offers SO many colors, 20 to be exact! It was fun picking out a different color other than the boring black, I settled on a gorgeous green mat. When I got it in the mail I was pleasantly surprised to find it was rather light. Once I took it out of the box I unrolled it and was once again surprised, it was longer than my current one! I notice some didnt like that it was longer, for me I personally loved it. The thickness was perfect and I didnt feel like I was sliding everywhere when I used it. There is a slight smell but thats due to the material its made of, I took some watered down odor ban and sprayed it and wiped it down. From then on I didnt notice a smell, I usually clean it down if I am doing hot yoga with a clorox wipe. The company sent the product very quickly so I had it in no time.At 20 dollars its a great deal, especially if you are used to buying the Tj Maxx or Ross cheaper versions that fall apart after a few uses!I have replaced my other mat with this one and plan on ordering one for my husband when he comes home from his current deployment.I did receive this product for my honest unbiased opinion.

Non-slip and good quality
This mat doesn’t slip, even on polished wooden floors. Works as described and feels like good quality. I would go for a thicker mat next time, but would recommend!
