Prospects say

Prospects discover the laptop computer performs as anticipated, boots up shortly, and is an enough machine for college work. They discover it an important little workhorse with an excellent working system and good display colour and distinction. Many admire its velocity and display decision. Nonetheless, some clients have skilled points with the battery life and onerous drive not lasting 60 days. There are blended opinions on scratch resistance.

    great coice great shape
It was a great buy! Comes with Windows 10 but easily upgrades (almost automatically) to Windows 11.Everything just great. I can’t tell this computer from any brand new one I’ve had.

Built like a tank and almost as heavy
What I like:It is built like a tank and will probably resist careless handling better than cheaper model computers.Sufficient memory to run the newer applications like Windows, 11, and Microsoft office as well as casual use photo editing, such as for making reports and magazine articles to submit.Really loving the back lighted keyboard, and the fact that the keys require a slightly harder tap then the cheap knock offs do. It’s more like a typewriter and less like a cell phone if that gives you an idea.It is already anti-glare screen. You interferes with your sleeping ability if you work at night so you don’t have to buy a separate blue light filter.Display is nice and crisp. What I do not like:The back lighted keyboard times out fairly quickly, and goes dark again. There’s probably a set for that. I haven’t figured out.The processor is slow,(by standards available in March 2024) so if you care about streaming, high definition, video or high resolution games, like second life, you might have to do a little wizard to scale down your settings and expectations.Incidentally, the tech papers I saw said you cannot overclock this model, so you’re out of luck there.this thing is incredibly heavy compared to newer computers of similar size and even 17 inch ones! That makes it unpleasant to take to the café to work on with other writers… if you have a physical handicap, I do not recommend that you buy a computer this heavy.if you have a physical handicap or weak hand strength, I do not recommend that you buy a computer this heavy.(I regret the impulse buy, but it was an excellent deal and much needed.)The battery also seems to get tired quicker than my old Acer computer, but it is a much higher horsepower as far as the amount of memory it runs so perhaps that’s the trade-off.(I am not saying the battery is bad)The cord is bulky but again it was cutting edge six years ago so I can’t really complain too much that it is taking a lot of room and relatively heavy compared to any other device I have.(hoping this makes it resistant to small animals chewing it.)😝Like a ferret or a bunny or a cat… or even a budgie! Yeah seriously.(pets will be pets.)—————-(anti-monopoly, software rant… skip ahead if you like)Frankly, I hate the layout of Windows 10 and 11, but I am also chronically angry about Microsoft and Google and Apple dominating the digital world so there you go…* nothing* short of open source code, and lowering the monthly rental fee for their software like Word and Photoshop to something like five dollars a month for home users, will appease me – and other nerdy people who have taken the red Matrix pill if you know what I mean, -and allowing us to download an *actual copy * of the program, so we own what we are paying for , instead of forcing us to rent this stuff, and use the cloud – if you have Financial hard times, you are up a creek, )I am also vigorously opposed to saving my stuff in the cloud. But that is a problem with Google and certain other applications, and they do know exactly what they’re doing if you read the business reports .It is nobody else’s business what I work on and if I work on it, and where I choose to save it… they certainly don’t have my permission to keep a copy (did you know they were sued for academic infringement roughly 20 years ago when they stole stuff to post on Google scholar ???)which they automatically do and you cannot prevent unless you do not use Google at all(!!!).———————-But that is more of a gunboat marketing monopoly tactic that has nothing to do with the quality of the hardware I am holding. They are hostage to the system as much as I am. (manufacturers, build what they are told to build so they can get paid.)That said this was a over $2000 computer, six years ago when the processor was new release. I am satisfied it will serve me for at least the next three years.I will also note that it does not fit as easily into certain laptop, protective sleeves, and cases that are designed for 14 to 15 inch machines. Because it’s kind of fat.! LolLike a tank😜but that is part of why I bought a brand-name and not a cheap knockoff from overseas that will probably break when I sneeze.

Multiple issues after only 4 months of use
Ran full diagnostics on this laptop when we received it and everything checked out ok. Then within 1 month we began having issues with this laptop saying that it was at 0% charge when it actually was fully charged. Thought it might be a faulty battery, and felt it was worth trying to replace the battery on our own if that would fix the issue, and it seemed to. But then 2 months later, the laptop began blue-screening when powering on, and then it often freezes up during the restart process, which then causes us to have to do a hard reset. Because of this issue, we contacted the seller and they aren’t willing to do anything about it since we are a few days outside the 90 day warranty/return period. So frustrating, as now we will have to put even more money into this laptop, or replace it all together.

Renewed is the way to go these days!
I was looking for a simple laptop for work and this one fit the bill. Mine has a scratch on the left side, but I don’t care. The rest of the laptop looks perfect and the keys work well.I do not know if they have all the same functions, but mine has a backlit keyboard, USB-C Thunderbolt, and your regular run-of-the-mill items that come standard on all laptops. The first two were important to me. The monitor was in great condition and even though it came in a non-specific box, the laptop came with a battery and power plug. Out of the box, it came right on with a fresh install of Windows 10 Pro. After updating it, it asked if I wanted to upgrade to Windows 11 for free. I did and the laptop runs it just fine. Complex video or audio processing takes a little more time, but it can do it and if this laptop is your standby computer like it is mine, then it should be fine. For $370, this renewed laptop is at a great price point, especially since I use this to break free from the office every so often.

This laptop arrived quickly and packaged well. It is everything that was advertised except the power adaptor was not working. I wrote to seller to let them know the problem. They had a replacement adaptor to me within a few days. Now all is working fine. Recommend!

Pretty fast laptop in great condition, only issue is it has an American keyboard. As and when I need to type a £ sign I may struggle. Why sell a laptop with an American keyboard in England? Baffling.

Completely satisfied. Looks like brand new, everything working fine. Screen shiny, speakers loud and clear. Battery vary, 3 hrs if extensive job, 10 hrs on reading news on internet. Hope it stays like that.Only difference to order was W11 Pro instead of W10, but that is not an issue to me.
