Works for peace of mind
UPDATE: I accidentally left this on an outfit that I removed in the middle of the night and put into the laundry. This item was WASHED and DRIED and STILL works!!! Obviously I do NOT recommend this, definitely donât try this at home. But if you make a very sleepy mistake like I did, you might get lucky like I did. Such a hardy device, love it!I love this device. My baby was born 5 weeks early and still needed time for his lungs to develop. It gave me great piece of mind that this device would let me know if he stopped breathing. If I didnât have this device I donât think I would get any sleep because of my constant worry and checking in on him. I highly recommend.Pros: it can sense respiratory rate most importantly when there is none. If baby moves position it is quick to notice. Alarm is good and noticeable. App is easy to install, pair and navigate.Con: Body temperature is way off (says my baby is always around 88-90â¢F), alarm notification doesnât work on Do Not Disturb setting (phone dependent). Babies heart rates are generally higher and it doesnât pick up faster rates, but it definitely picks up apnea’s periods.

As a first time mom, Iâve had loads of anxiety about the health and safety of my daughter. I was losing countless hours of sleep just to watch her and make sure everything was okay. We tried the owlet the first night home from the hospital and just didnât care for it. After panic ordering this monitor in the middle of the night, I was finally able to be comfortable going to sleep at night. We struggled with her overheating (she runs warmer like her dad), and it is so helpful to see what her temperature is before she gets too warm. I have already recommended this product to other moms in my life. If youâre like me and youâre scrolling the reviews late at night while your anxiety is keeping you awake, buy it. It is worth the peace of mind.

For the most part it does what it’s supposed to
I got this device because I’m a first time dad and I’m also a gadget guy. I didn’t really even think that I needed something like this until one night my baby choked on his own spit up and made this very scary sounds and vomited all over. I thought to myself, “holy crap, what if I slept through that and my baby choked on his on vomit in the middle of the night and I just slept through it?!”So, this leads to this product.Things I liked:-pretty straight forward operation straight out of the box-tracks breathing and temperature-has modifiable settings through an app on your phone-can turn on and off the temperature warnings or the breathing. we were more concerned about the breathing and the temperature settings were a little confusing (see below)-small-ish and made of plastic (easy to clean)Things I didn’t like-the clip is pretty hard to use and on a fussy baby getting something on or off could mean the difference between coos or cries-You have to use the app to turn it off or on. If you take it off (to change the baby for example) you get the warning from your phone and in the middle of the night the red alert sound is pretty annoying coming from the other room and waking your partner)-no other way to attach besides the clip so it had to be on the diaper if you want to use it close to the babies body-when we used it with the sensor facing in it created a gap in the diaper and the baby leaked out from peeing-it disconnects often and you don’t know it isn’t until you open the app (after you’ve changed your baby and swaddled him up for the night) so at that point it’s undo everything or just forget about itOverall: We’ve stopped using it because we know now that our baby was a little too hot and the device helped us to know that. He doesn’t roll over yet so we don’t need it for that. We’re not as concerned about the breathing anymore mainly because our baby doesn’t sleep much at night anyway so it’s not like we’re worried about him passing in his sleep because he’s definitely awake and alive. I’ll keep it though for the time he starts to rollover which will be helpful to allow us to sleep soundly to alert us if that happens.

I am so thankful for little advancements in technology as such that ensures peace of mind. This is for the parents that like to be safer than oops, sorry, i took a chance. In life accidents happen all the time especially when it comes to new, Inexperienced, exhausted parents or even carless caretakers. This tiny device that weighs close to nothing provides that extra step of security to make sure your infants temperature and body movement is monitored to safe levels at all times. This is especially important during incline positions, like when the infants is in swings, carseats, and bouncers. Whenever their chin drops to an uncomfortable position that restricts their breathing. If the power goes out, or a sudden raise or drop in temperature quickly changes your infants temp to a dangerous levels 10x quicker than your own. The device is there to quickly notify you. You can customize your childs device settings to your environmental preference and accuracy. I believe this Sensu is exceptionally helpful for the single or exhausted parent who had to many hours without sleep and may be absent minded. Or to the breastfeeding mother who dozed off while feeding her child so that she doesn’t wake up to find horror. The sensu stays on and in my opinion non intrusive and bothersome like some similar products in the market. I highly recommend.
