Works great
Solid build quality, great price. The product is relatively heavy and the grip teeth seem very sharp. It’s a great fit for my needs

Broke first use.
Broke the first time I used it. Handle snap right off. Looked and felt sturdy buy was poorly made. Waste of money.

Worked great several times now
These are well made and sturdy. They worked great to pull hide off deer. Fit the hand well and once clamped on, have enough tension to not open up until you are done. Great choice for saving hand strength when doing multiple deer in a row. Would definitely recommend. Note: Don’t pull too hard on younger deer hides because these beasts wont quit on you, they’ll rip the patch of hide they bit and tear though the edge with the patch still locked in their jaws.

I should have bought this years ago!
Been deer hunting and processing my own meat for close to 40 years now. This tool made the skinning part of the job so much easier! Do yourself a favor and just buy it. Your fingers will thank you.

When it’s about frozen
Used for the first time this past weekend on a buck that had hung for a day in 20* temps. He was riggored up good and the hide wasn’t coming off easy. My old man was skeptical, but I said hey lets try it.They are a little bulky and odd, but got the job done with a lot less cramping in the hands and I’d recommend them to anyone who butchers their own deer. Probably not worth the trouble if your harvest is still warm and fresh, but great for those hides that aren’t coming off easy.

Do not buy – Broke on first use.
Item broke on the first use. Clamp with teeth broke clean off. Do not purchase. It will let you down when you need it.

Should have bought these years ago.
Excellent. When skinning I often have problems with cold or even frozen, and difficulty pulling. This tool is perfect. No more hand cramping and I can get a good hold and downward pressure. I’m sure it would be super easy if it was fresh, but I typically hang for as long as the weather with allow. The teeth lock into the skin well and the tabs near the handle limit compression and stop you from over squeezing and likely breaking the claw. These are cast iron, so I wouldn’t recommend dropping them on a concrete floor.

Edit: two deer seasons and these tongs broke. One of the clamp sides broke right off. They are cast but I wouldnât have expected them to snap under normal skinning.Iâve been looking for something to eliminate hand cramps while skinning deer. This is the answer. Only problem with it is the handles are very far apart to use one handed and I have big hands
