    It hits just right.
I can remember it as if it were a meal ago. A well known and respected veterinarian clinic that had an attached no kill shelter for kittens. Saw a cute blue-gray kitten. The holding name was “Heather.” She was a little sick with a mild eye infection but I had to adopt her. They kept her in a little kennel to keep her away from the healthy cats. The lady running the shelter let me meet her. She opened the door to her box and she walked straight over to me and rubbed her chin on my knee. She knew why I was there. I told her I had to have her and I could take care of her eye at home. They knew that my last cat Precious just died at 22 and knew they could trust me. I started filling out the paperwork and getting time how to give her the eye cream. I paid my $400 for adoption fees, shots, and spaying. I put her in the kitty carrier and and started heading to the door. They asked me “Hey, what are you gonna name her or are you gonna keep the Heather name?” I turned and said “Poopy-face McGinty The Butt-Faced Bandit.”They started chasing me to get my car thinking I was only going to hurt the poor kitten.Boy they were wrong. Me and her are still together. I feed her beef jerky while we watch Thundercats (2011.) It’s her favorite show and she always purrs when Lion-O starts yelling “Thunder!”That’s my Poopie!

    Good reboot
As far as reboots go this is one of the few that is actually good. First off it is not a retelling of the original show instead it is basically its own story with much of the same characters and ideas. That being said it was better than the original in many ways and as a show I enjoyed it more. I am a huge fan of the original thundercats but at the same time if I look at it objective without nostalgia getting in the way I have to admit that the original was repetitive, not as exciting, and extremely corny at times. This reboot has no shortage of action and there seems to be a more focused overarching story as opposed to the episodic feel of the original. I think they used characters very well and the bad guys actually felt like a dangerous threat instead of doofuses with no legitimate threat to the thundercats. For the most part the character designs were also better in the reboot with the major exception being panthro who just looked… weird. One of the best parts of the reboot is that snarf doesn’t talk. It gets addressed later in the series but I was critical of Tygra and Liono being brothers at the beginning. The bigger issues I had at first which I forgave at the end was the expectation of this being a retelling of the original which it just isn’t and doesn’t try to be and in the end I’m kinda glad they went with something new but they stopped in the middle. I really wish they would have finished the story but unfortunately I don’t see that ever happening which is a shame. I don’t know why but it seems like the good shows that actually should stay on the air get canceled and shows that are awful and don’t need to finish to tell a story keep getting additional seasons.

    A worthy reboot
A reboot that did everything right. Pay homage to the original material, but also offer something new.

Fantastic series, rememberable score and great story telling. Beats the original classic show hands down! Shame it was cancelled at the start of Season 2! Apparently it was because the toys were not selling, despite strong show ratings! Picture quality is fine with its original DD 2.0 mix. The case is a bit flimsy, but I’ve noticed it’s a common problem with the cheaper produced U.S Blu-ray cases!
