Updated review: 12/10/23So I had bought this belt. I love the whole idea of how the buckle works, how it’s so adjustable. However, I’m sorry to say that after a few months the leather belt came apart. It split in two parts. The inside part of the leather completely separated from the outside part. I really feel bad to have to say this in my updated review because I really do like the belt. But it came apart.My original review:I love this belt.I ordered it and got it in less than 2 days.Came in a box suitable for a gift.I love the smooth sleek black buckle. I like that the buckle is one piece and does not clang around and make noise like the clunky buckles on the ratchet track belts.I love that no holes are needed and you can make it fit exactly how you like by simply pushing the belt in/out of the buckle.I love how the belt “tail” hides itself on the inside of the belt, rather than hang loose on the outside.I love the black leather and how it’s finished along all edges.I love how it looks.I love it and I’m about to order a second one for myself and may get some as gifts. The price is affordable.Only slight negative is that this belt model and that which the buckle is not removable, does not allow for easy trimming of the belt length like those ratchet track belts. So you just have to make sure to order the correct size. My waist measures 36″. I bought the size 34-40. The length of the belt including the buckle is 47″. That gives me about 8″ of extra belt “tail” sliding on the inside of the belt. Quite comfortable and not seen by anyone.

I was originally looking to replace a Dapperlin Belt. One of the buckles had failed. The Drapperlin buckle was similar to this buckle, except there was no lever and no “ratchet indentations in the belt. To release the buckle one merely lifted on the back of the buckle and it released. Unfortunately the rubber piece that did the work came off and the buckle was no longer of any use.As far as this belt, I read some of the critical reviews and can only wonder. First, pressing the lever to release the buckle should after about 1 day be extremely easy. The second review I read stated that the belt material was plastic. It does seem the belt is not 100% leather. It seems to be some substance, probably a dense foam, sandwiched between what I assume is 2 pieces of leather. The bond is incredibly tight. When I cut the belt to fit, I tried to separate the pieces on the cut piece & could not. One reason this is a 3 star instead of 4 is that if you do have to cut the belt to length, you will have to punch a hole for the screw. In my case, I just lined up the hole furthest from the end to the front & punched one hole behind it. I have included a picture of the cut end of the belt.Do I think this detracts from the belt. No I don’t. Time will tell if it wears differently than an all leather belt. I am more worried about the clamping mechanism than the belt material. And really folks, the belt costs less than $20.

Bad Ratchet System, belt stretches/Curls over time, not long lasting
Bought this belt in July of this year and didn’t like the ratchet system right away. If you make a lot of adjustments to your belt throughout the day, IE loosen belt when sitting, tightening etc. it’s not easily adjustable.The belt runs through the ratchet on the inside instead of the outside, making adjustments more difficult than necessary. The ratchet release also becomes more difficult to press to release the more you wear the belt.The belt now also twists when being worn and overall not worth buying. Pick another brand that has a better ratchet system.Will not purchase again, not recommended!

Looks nice, won’t last though.

Is very confortable and practically on adjustements. I like so much!
