The cats like it!
Most of this is WYSIWYG, with the only exception being the sides of the hidey-hole. There are four posts at the corner that look uncannily like paint rollers and then there’s a fabric shell that you stretch over the top, down around the sides which is held in place by an elastic cord at the bottom. It works surprisingly well, but if you’re expecting solid wood sides like we were, it might be a bit of surprise. Well, now you know.Assembly was easy enough that our elementary school student was able to help with almost all of it. Putting the fabric cover on took some minor jostling, but nothing too difficult. I guess it may have come with instructions, but honestly it’s all pretty self-evident.The scratching post part isn’t really tall enough or positioned right for just plain vanilla scratching so you’ll probably need a dedicated post for that, but as a whole, the tree is a fun play station for teh kittehs. They were batting at each other thru the fabric, jumping up and down and in and out, and they really enjoyed pouncing on toys thru the leaves. I doubt they’re going to give up sleeping in the basket of winter hats and scarfs to move in here, but as long as they’re having fun, it’s worth giving up the floorspace.

The unit seems durable and was fairly simple to put together. The fabric part that surrounds the box part was a bit difficult to put on. It was very tight, but I managed. As soon as I got it constructed and placed on the floor, my Tux went inside and made herself at home. She approves, so I guess I do as well.

No instructions, fabric sides
This came with absolutely 0 instructions for assembly. It was easy enough to figure out, but thatâs ridiculous – thereâs no reason for it to come without assembly instructions. My cats do seem to like sitting in the house, but itâs the type of house without solid sides, which I donât like. Not only that, but the design means the scratcher is essentially useless – my boys are big, but they donât want to reach that high for the scratcher, so it doesnât get used at all. Not impressed

Very Unique and My Cats Love It.
Requested this item because it appeared to be very novel. When I received it this was confirmed, it is.Assembly takes about 5 minutes and involves 9 bolts. The tool is included. No spares are provided but I don’t view that as a problem since the bolts are all fairly large and would be hard to lose.The most difficult part of assembly is fitting the fabric around the box shell on the bottom. That’s right the box is soft sided. It does have a wood top and bottom but the sides are fabric. The tricky part here is that when the box frame is put together the fabric has to be fit over it. I ended up tearing one of the seams and was about to deduct a star – but in the end my cats like this so much I didn’t. My suggestion would be to realize there are corners and to fit them first. Then after finding the right placement pull the fabric down over the box. If time is taken in this step there won’t be any problems. Should someone feel a lot of force is needed just stop, undo, and then reattempt.Once this was all together it really looks nice. Before I knew what was going on my cats were already setting up house. It’s literally the cat’s meow…..

Cat hated the top so I took it off. It hold up my 18 pound cat and he fits inside. Easy to assemble and it’s soft.

Great cat furniture for the price
At first I didn’t have the best impressions as the bottom condo is actually a piece of stretchy fabric you secure over the frame. Unlike the pictures suggest, this is 4 rods, a wooden top and bottom, and then the palm tree scratcher on top. And the green cube is soft fabric cover, which honestly felt thin. But once installed, it makes for a convincing, cute cat hideout, and she’s enjoying it so much I have to give it 5 stars. And considering the price, this is quite a nice piece. And the ball survived! My cat usually ends up tearing any ball on stretchy string off within one night, so the fact this is still hanging in there despite many play sessions a day is fantastic. This was pretty easy to set up, I would say about twenty minutes with cat distractions, faster if you rush. It makes for a cute piece of cat furniture, and a scratcher and hideout they seem to really like.
