Works well & gets dog’s attention
I was recommended by a trainer to get one of these to deter my large pup from jumping on people & other minor behavior issues. You must charge it first then fill the citronella which was pretty easy. Then you size the collar (my dog is 80 lbs and this adjusted well) and put it on. There are 3 options- beep, vibrate & spray. Carry the remote with you and when the pup does something they shouldn’t, hit one of the buttons. My pup reacted to the beep and spray, not so much the vibrate. I did the spray 1 or 2 times and he got the idea about jumping up….he does it.much less. I don’t leave the collar on, only put it if he does something. Works well!

UPDATE – 9/2024:The company sent us two new collars. We haven’t had any problems with them.PREVIOUS:We’ve had two collars since Sept ’23. They worked fine.Then today the collar started vibrating by itself, scared our dog. I removed the collar. The main control needed charging, but it still shouldn’t do this? I left message to the company via Amazon, waiting to hear back. I’m currently working with company on this.

Now, it just beeps. IT NEVER STOPS BEEPING. Makes the whole thing useless. **Save your money, go with another brand. This product is not good at all. Too expensive for what you get. I have two Bark Machine 9000s, aka Corgis. We live in a first floor apartment and they will bark if a mouse farts in the woods a mile away. I am pretty good at ignoring things but I work from home as a sales person and they were driving me nuts on sales calls.I didn’t want to use a shock collar and I also didn’t want something that would go off when I didn’t want it too and confuse the dogs.This thing is PERFECT. There are 3 levels, a beep, a vibrate, and a puff of citronella I can’t even smell but the dogs must be able to. I control when it goes off.The point is to not for the dogs never to bark, but to only bark once, or if there is actually something unusual. But also to shut up when I tell them too.I never thought it was possible but it took TWO WEEKS and I don’t even NEED the collar anymore. I started by saying QUIET when they barked and then did the beep when they didn’t be quiet. Now they bark SO MUCH LESS and if they do, I say QUIET and they shut up.Just buy it. Don’t think about it.

Update:I had an issue with the new collar. The company stepped up to the plate and sent me a replacement. I recommend that you try this collar as a humane training device.This collar is a terrific training aid for our 9 month old 60 pound Golden Retriever. He has (almost) stopped counter surfing, and eating mud and grass. He drops whatever he has in his mouth when he’s told, leaves-it-alone when told.However, after a month an a half of use the collar will not respond to the remote. And it’s 18 days over the refund date.I’ve tried to contact the seller, to no avail. However Amazon has agreed to a return and refund of the item.I’ve already ordered a new one. Maybe this one will last until our pup is old enough he doesn’t need it anymore!Further update…July 2024The replacement collar developed a crack, allowing the citronella to escape. I contactedThe POllOPY Companyand once again they came through and sent me a replacement. I could not recommend POllOPY higher. Terrific customer service!! Thank you POllOPY!

Wonât refill with spray
I bought this because I trained a previous dog with one and truly loved the convenience of it. It worked well. Flash forward 10 yrs and a new puppy. I got this one. The first time I had to refill the spray, it wouldnât work. When I place the spray nozzle into the hole to refill it, it sprays right back at me. And yes, the collar itself is empty and in need of more.Maybe avoid this particular one and try another.

Less barking within a couple days.Our mini schnauzer is 9 1/2 months. Fairly vocal and at times out of control barking (especially if someone comes onto the property or with the dog next door at the fence). Heâs also a runner when heâs gotten loose out the front door. The first time he got out was 1 1/2 weeks after using the collar. 2 beeps and 1 vibrate he stopped running, 1 light mist and he ran back to the house.I can now take him out the front door with me or in and out of the garage, he usually will not leave the property. If he wanders off he comes back with voice command or one beep or vibrate. Iâve only used the spray (on light) 4 times, once was by accident.I started with treat rewards when he obeyed the beep or vibrate and voice command. Now I donât necessarily need to give a voice command, he stops whatever it is Iâve beeped or vibrated for and comes. I donât always reward with a treat now but will always give loving and enthusiastic praise. He has never responded to the collar with anxiety or fear. The treats and praise may have something to do with that.Worth every penny!!!
