Rule #1: Have a better lock and a crappier bike than the one you park beside.honestly, every lock can be defeated in an impressively short amount of time given the proper skills and tools. if you think parking in public places might be a deterrent then ask yourself, would you confront a bike thief taking someone else’s ride if they came prepared with an angle grinder? survey says… nope.simply put, know the risks of where you ride and pick your bike/lock combo combo to match your location. if that means you can’t ride your boutique bike downtown metropolis to get an espresso, too bad.my opinion (which is worth what you pay for it, i.e. nothing) is that this U-lock/cable is an inexpensive choice that will be overkill for a rural area and probably OK for suburbs. everything else… see rule #1
