Purchased to replace my H&J which I had for 7+ years. Used by everyone in my household on a daily basis. We have 3 very different hair types, from thick, coarse, curly to thin & wavy. It works well for all 3 hair types. This model is extremely lightweight, has 3 speeds and 3 heat levels with a button for cool shot. My husband uses it on the highest speed and highest heat for his coarse curly hair and he loves it. It quickly dries his hair and keeps it controlled all day. My daughter’s hair is long, thin and wavy, so I use the middle speed with mid heat to straighten it. My hair is curly and thin, and I like to diffuse on low speed, low heat. I gave it 4 stars because there’s a few things that I think can be done better. The buttons that control heat, speed, and cool shot are right where my fingers land to hold the dryer so I mistakenly change it while drying. The 3 heat levels are all very hot, even the lowest heat setting is very hot. I prefer to diffuse my hair and I find that the diffuser included with this dryer has larger holes in the center so it feels more like a power shot than a diffused warm air. However, we all really like how lightweight it is. If they could somehow put the controls on the back of the handle, instead of the front and provide more of a range on the heat settings it would be a 5 star.

DO NOT BUY – MOTOR INSIDE EXPLODED!!! I have only had it for 6 months and when I just turned it on I thought it strange that air was blowing out the back and not the front of the hairdryer. So I quickly shut it off. After inspecting it and all seemed good I turned it back on. No sooner did I turn it back on to use it by my head when it made a loud explosion sound and sparks came out the front & back. I quickly unplugged it. Lucky for me, the plastic cover kept the *shrapnel* contained!!!! When I shake the blow dryer now, it sounds like a baby rattle (with lots of pieces inside). The motor sounds like it blew into a million pieces.VERY, VERY SCARY!!! COULD HAVE BEEN A VERY BAD SITUATION. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CONTACT L’ANGE CUSTOMER SERVICE TO NO AVAIL. Amazon told me it’s past the return period, even for a safety issue. I will be pursuing this as it was very dangerous situation. If I could I would give it NO starsUPDATE. ADVISED AMAZON TODAY I COULD NOT GET ANY RESPONSE FROM L’ange and was very concerned about this being a major safety issue. Amazon was amazing and took care of the situation to my satisfaction

This is a light, easy to use, salon quality dryer. Drying time is fast and finished hair is definitely smoother than with other dryers. Thrilled with the purchase.
