Holds in heat
These can be used as a prep for staying warm in a power outage. Set up in the house and sleep inside. It will reflect your body heat keeping you warmer. It can also be used as a portable shelter in an emergency, weighing almost nothing and taking up very little space.

Great to have â just in case.
I looked at a few of these emergency tents as I like go on day hikes and wanted one for insurance. This was the only one with metal grommets and pegs so you can actually secure it to the ground properly. I image the other ones (which you use stuff to weigh down the corners) would flap around like crazy in a decent breeze.I havenât used it yet but the mylar looks like itâll stand up to the job. Iâll get another for my truck.

Not bad….
So there’s no such thing as perfection when it comes to emergency shelter items. They’re either impossibly small like the space blankets but yet very limited, or they’re pretty bulky like this tent and offer a lot more but again, they’re bulky and a little bit heavy – not something you’re gonna backpack with.Motorcycle bicycle horse, ATV camping absolutely.

Small bag
The survival tent is packed into a really small bag which is great for an emergency item as it doesn’t take up much space. Unfortunately that also means that after use it’ll be really hard to get it back into such a small bag.I do plan on seeing how easily it is to set it up and put it back in again next time I go camping and will update this review on how easy it is to do so when I do

Very Basic Tent But It’s for Emergencies
I did not open this completely since it looks like this would be the sort of thing that you can’t put back into the included storage bag once opened. It has all the components needed though. This is very basic. It’s not going to look like a normal camping tent. Keep in mind, to set this up, you need to tie a rope between two trees and affix the tent to the rope. So if you’re in an area without two trees at a distance that the rope will reach, you have no tent. All in all, it should keep you out of the rain, but I would imagine any kind of wind, even with the included ground pegs, will blow this around like crazy. For what it is, it’s okay. I would recommend it for last resort, emergency camping – not something for a weekend in the woods.

Great Piece of Emergency/Survival Gear
The Monterra Survival Tent is a great addition to the emergency gear kit for my Jeep when I’m off road and in the back country. It’s tight fit for two but it’s for emergencies. Comes with paracord and stakes. It’s nice to have the reflective side to help keep heat in. Overall its nice piece that’s copt in size and definitely a great addition to your emergency gear.
