These styling hair combs work as promised. They feel very durable and easy to manage. The combs are smooth which slide easily into my hair, with ridges that slide into place to hold without tearing. I also used it to heighten the sides of my hair using texurizer spray and a blow dryer with success. My hair is fine and just past shoulder length. These are definitely keepers; I couldn’t be happier!

tl;dr – would prefer to get to 2 small ones
The small one was easy to open and use right away BUT the larger one. . .wow. I had to use both hands to open it and keep it open so I had a really hard time using the larger one but the smaller was great!I would prefer to have received 2 smaller ones as the larger one, I most likely will not use it unless I can get the spring to relax a little as it is just too strong for one hand.The small one worked well for me as I have lost a lot of hair in the past year so this makes it seems like my hair is fuller with more body at the roots.

Surprisingly effective
I ordered these not expecting much but they do work well to add a little extra volume to my hair! It’s equivalent to the mini crimpers that are sold for the same purpose, but more subtle. They work best when you leave them in for at least 15-20 minutes or longer.

Noticeable difference
As I age, I’ve noticed my hair is less voluminous than it used to be. My whole life, I’ve always received a lot of compliments on my hair, so I decided to order these combs to see if I could restore it to its former glory. I ordered the light pink set, and while they are plastic, they seem to be well made. The combs come in two different sizes. I used the larger one to lift the roots at the top of my head along my part and the smaller one for my bangs. They were a little tricky to figure out how to use at first, but the instructional video in the product images helped. Once you slide the comb open, you can use it to grab sections of hair at the roots. I then used a blow dryer on it for it to set in place. I decided to leave it in for a few minutes afterwards for it to set. When I took them out, I did notice a lift and no trace of the teeth of the combs. While it wasn’t the miracle cure I was hoping for, I think with more practice and perhaps a volumizing dry shampoo or other products, they would make a big difference!

learning curve just with how to open them
When these arrived they did not have any instructions but based on the ad I thought how hard can they be. Jokes on me, took me five minutes to figure out how to open them. The small one can be opened the way it is supposed to be; flipping it upside down hold the top between your thumb and index finger, thumb on top, push your thumb to the right while pulling your index finger towards the left and it will open. The big one I struggled with it immensely. It opens theoretically the same way however it is clunky and stiff and you may have to fiddle with it for quite a while to find the sweet spot that gets it open. Once you do figure out how to open them they’re pretty easy after that point and they do work as intended. I have tried a lot of heatless styling tools before and these are probably the gentlest ones as they do not require certain volume of hair , thickness or length to work as they simply rest on your scalp and do their job without any pulling on the actual hair. I do wish they were easier to operate initially but since they do work as intended and at this price point I am happy overall, I would recommend.

I was initially hesitant to get this set, but I am so glad that I placed this order. First, I’m glad that there are two types in the set. The smaller one grabs bigger hair in fewer rows, while the bigger tool grabs smaller chunks of hair but more rows. These work on dry hair, but better on damp hair, and yes, they help add body to the hair. The best feature of this set, in my opinion, is that they are easy to use and don’t entangle my hair like the velcro counterpart. I like this concept; it’s very innovative. Thank you.
