I’ve owned this knife for over 2 years now and it has held up very well. Since then, I’ve bought other, “nicer” knives to replace it, yet I keep coming back to this one. If you’re looking for a durable, affordable edc knife, I highly recommend this.I use this knife almost everyday. While the black paint has definitely scratched off a bit, I dont mind the appearance of it. If anything, it just looks well used. Functionally, the knife works perfect and has been consistent the entire time I’ve used it. The build is strong, I dont worry about it breaking, snapping or closing unexpectedly. Even if I did break it, a replacement only costs $30. If I ever manage to break this thing, I would definitely buy this again.A lot of people mention the difficulty opening the knife. While this may be weird at first, I’ve grown to like this feature of the knife. The spring to deploy this knife is very strong and the blade opens with a good amount of force. It takes a little strength to open, but this keeps it from deploying when its not supposed to. I dont even notice this anymore and can deploy it very quickly and with no effort. Whenever I lend it to friends, I warn them that it takes some force to open and it may take a new user 1 or 2 tries before they figure it out. Granted, these friends are not familiar with any types of knives.

I REALLY REALLY Like This Knife !
I’ve had this same knife, except with the partially serrated blade, and carried daily for several years, and think it is a fantastic knife. Decided on this plain blade model this time because; 1.I didn’t have many occasions to actually NEED serrations , and 2. The serrations are a pain to sharpen. Here are the pros;-very sharp right out of the box -decent steel, holds an edge pretty well and sharpens with ease -Opens quickly with only a minor flick of the opening lever…the ‘magic assist’ is great ! -not so expensive a loss or TSA confiscation will make you cry -looks good -Very stiff/secure pocket clip -extremely ‘grippy’ in the hand ! side toward pocket clip is rubbery and aggressive texture, other side is like black 80 grit sandpaper ! ( I like that) -the fit and finish of parts, including blade pivot is good, even compared to some more expensive knifes. -blade pivot screw can be tightened as knife wears with use, and the tiny torx driver can be found fairly easily. -the knife has never deployed in my pocket, even though I carry with safety off at all times. -although this knife works like a switchblade with swift open and secure lock, in most all states in the US it is completely legal. They put little opening lugs on the blade so it looks (and can operate like) a regular folder so as not to draw unwanted attention.Cons;-paint finish on blade and other parts scratches and chips in time. This never bothered me much at all, especially considering the price point here. -out of the box, the blade grind angle is not symmetrical and will have to be corrected first time sharpening if you use a sharpening system. ( I use a Gatco set and a 19 degree sharpening angle) I have no idea why Taylor uses asymmetrical grind, and those using freehand stones probably never would notice this -when new, it takes a break-in period of 50-100 openings before it opens quickly. No big deal & a good opportunity to build ‘muscle memory’ with working the knife.I am very impressed with this knife. I like it so much I always keep a spare on hand in case I lose my daily carry knife. I’ve read reviews that criticize the extreme texture on the grip panels, to the extent their pocket edges have been damaged. I haven’t had that problem at all, but wear mostly jeans. If it was a problem, I would just remove pocket clip and smooth the texture a little. I also have this knife in the larger version with serrations as a rescue tool in my car. I have bought several of these 3 1/2″ SWATMB or SWATMBS (partially serrated ) knives as gifts for friends and relatives.
