The advertised size uses the word “Diameter”, so you would think that was from ear-to-ear diagonally. But the number they give is actually the distance from ear-to-ear along one side, not diagonally. This drove me nuts trying to replace mine with the same size when it wore out.So in case it helps you match up the correct size, the actual sizes are: Small: Side ear-to-ear 8-1/2″, Diagonally ear-to-ear 11-1/2″, Center narrowest section 6″ Medium: Side ear-to-ear 9-1/2″, Diagonally ear-to-ear 13-1/2″, Center narrowest section 7″ Large: Side ear-to-ear 11″, Diagonally ear-to-ear 8-1/2″, Center narrowest section 8″For this 6′ guy and 65 pound labra-doodle, I find the Small by far the best for throwing and catching. To me, the Medium is considerably clumsier and the Large just hopeless with regard to spinning and catchability and not catching too much wind to send it off course. So if it’s your first one, I’d suggest starting with the Small.It is an absolute favorite for my dog. He gets really excited when I pull it out. And it’s a great lazy-guy way to give him exercise. Just stand there and throw it 15 times and give him a treat when he catches/brings it back, and 10 minutes later he’s tired out. Almost as good as chasing the hose water.Finally, it’s well built and lasts a long time for throw-and-fetch, but as others have said, it will not survive long as a tug or chew toy. Bring it out to play catch and then put it away.

I have a 6 month old teething 38 Lb American Bulldog. This is her favorite toy.Every morning she and I go to the park and play frisbee with it.I’ve bought three flying toys from Chuckit.1. the chuckit Plush boomerang Chuckit! Plush Boomerang2. The Chuckit Paraflight Chuckit! Large Paraflight3. The Chuckit Flying Squirrel Chuckit! Large Flying Squirrel 11-InchI figure I’ll put 3 reviews into 11. The Chuckit Plush Boomerang lasted 3 hours before she had torn it open and eaten the stuffing out. It’s probably my mistake because we let her use it as a chew toy not just a boomerang. But if you have a heavy chewer unless you use it on a very supervised basis. Inside then I wouldn’t recommend this. For small dogs and non chompers this is probably a excellent toy and will become a favorite2. The chuckit Paraflight is excellent. It’s very durable. You can throw it hard. It’s soft on the mouth. But for some reason my dog plays with it but just doesn’t get excited. I leave it for her a chew toy and she just doesn’t play with it. To her it’s just boring.3. The flying Squirrel. This is her favorite toy in the world. I’m on my second because the first I allowed her to use as a chew toy and it didn’t last more than 2-3 weeks. So it’s durable enough to withstand some chewing but if you want to use for a long time then you need to just use it for it’s purpose which is a frisbee.Well Petunia can’t talk so she hasn’t told me why this is her favorite. Again it’s a little floppy and that makes it a exciting toy.The one drawback is that you can’t’ throw it as far as a regular Frisbee. I’ve found the max distance is around 50 feet. My dog loves it, loves it, loves it!
It is a nice toy for the first few days, and then my dog began to unravel it. Admittedly, I have a bulldog with gigantic jaws and she is probably rougher on toys than the average puppy! This thing runs through the air like a flying squirrel and Sales forever, and it is a lot of fun. But if the dog is allowed to keep it and play with it, your dog may be like mine and it might decide to eat it! It took a while, because the corners are very well reinforced with heart rubber. But eventually, my dog tore up, so I canât give it five stars. But it was a wonderful fun toy, and the limp rag if whatâs left is still a favorite thing for my dog to carry around the house in her mouth.

I think my retriever loves this toy more than me, lol
My golden retriever loves this toy so much! He goes crazy for it. Every time I let him outside he wants to play with it. Prior to this toy I had some other balls and discs and even the Chuck-It brand frisbee (which he likes as well), but all of those might as well be invisible now. He loves this squirrel toy so much he tries to sneak it inside after playing. He loves to play fetch with it, and I feel like it has increased his sense for physics and spacial awareness, because he has started to predict the movement and how it will roll and spin when it hits the ground. He also wants to lay down with it and chew on the corners, but it has held up pretty well.A+ would buy another one.
