  1. I Bought That?

    Small yet powerful
Great gadget. Using it with Alexa to fire off routines.Easy to setup. App is easy to use.Not all of the functionality is available unless you are deep into the Aqara ecosystem. I am not so I can only use half of the functionality.Requires a Aqara hub.Reasonably priced for all of the things it can do.

Impressive and Fun but Requires Some Effort to Set Up
I love this product! I have been using this for last four months. While I couldn’t use its full functionality since I connected it through HomeAssistant and I had to purchase the Aqara hub separately, this little gadget is so impressive that I still had to give it 5 stars. Every time guests see it for the first time, they are just so amazed. However, if you’re new to home automation, it might not be the easiest to set up. It took me some time to figure things out and I am new to HomeAssistant.Speed to turn on and off: 4/5Battery Life: 5/5Accuracy: 3/5Ease of Installation: 2/5Once everything is set up, the combination of its price, functionality, and the “wow” factor it brings to guests makes it a solid 5/5. Highly recommend it for smart home enthusiasts!

    Great input device
I used for a home assistant application. Seamlessly interfaces to zigbee2mqtt integration. integrating was straightforward but learning to use is a bit more challenging. I ended up using a cheat sheet to remind which motion resulted in which scene or function. The device works flawlessly as described.. my mind on the other hand is having a hard time keeping up.

    At first, great cubes.
First, I wish they had grey and black. The white gets dirty too quickly, well, looks dirty. Actually, it would be great if they made many colors (red, yellow, pink, brown, black, grey, bright white, green, orange, lavender, etc.).Second, once you move them around enough, they start getting disconnected and stop responding. I’ve replaced the battery, reset them, and they are within ten feet of the Zigbee coordinator. I am using Home Assistant with Zigbee2MQTT. It appears as if the battery is not staying connected. Sometimes when I reset the battery, it works for a bit then stops working. I do not know if it is the battery not being secured or if it is a connection issue. This only happens on one cube. The other cube works fine. I just have two. I really like these things and would buy more. I hope for more color choices, better security of battery, and more stable connectivity.UPDATE 2023-05-24: Aqara immediately contacted me. They were very responsive with constant replies. I appreciate this. Eventually they offered a refund, and I declined it. I will keep the two cubes as they are. As far as the Aqara door sensors and buttons are concerned, they are awesome, and have not had an issue with them at all. I like the door sensors and buttons better than other competitors. I said to them, instead of refund, how about future Cube Pro 3 with assorted color choices. I would definitely buy those. Aqara customer service is high bar. I increased my score from two stars to five stars just for the customer service I received.

Really fun and multi-functional, but it may not last too long
I really got this cube just as a toy to play around with. I am using Home Assistant using ZHA and a SkyConnect for the zigbee connection and it worked great for a while, picking up the shake, rotate (per size), and tap. The only thing I had a problem with is that the tap required quite a bit of force to register, which made it not so fun. No one wants to slam the product down on a face (twice) to initiate a command and it is really hard to make it happen in your hand/lap. But I mostly only use it for a shake to turn on a porch light.I purchased the Cube T1 Pro 8 months ago but the last few months it has lost connection to my zigbee stick and I constantly have to pull the battery to reset it (which is no small feat, the cover is not easy to pop off… which is normally a good thing). The “Link” button will work no problem (event appears in HA), but any shake/tap/rotate/motion to initiate a trigger will do nothing until I pull the battery to reset it. I am not sure if it is just a defect in this device itself or if it is an overall issue of longevity with the device but this is my experience. My kid absolutely loves using it and I wish it would work all the time instead of needing me to fix it every few days.

    It’s a fun toy
It’s pretty intuitive to program what the actions do.

    used piece of crap
I ordered and paid for new, I got used. No pretense of newness was attempted. It arrived in a plastic (bag-ish thing) with some unrelated generic ‘do not eat’ spanish printed on it.No box, no instructions, not even an evil qr code. The notch to open the battery cover has nasty marks from abuse. It got someone elses nasty germs and dirt on it.Obviously someone else had it before I did and got rid of it, that makes 2 unhappy campers…By the time I get it returned I’m gonna be permanently out an additional 1/2 of the purchase price.Total junk IMneverHO

    Homekit compatible, but not optimal
I ordered this to try the nifty motion features of the original cube with my HomeKit system. Except it turns out that while it is compatible, the only functions you get in HomeKit are… 6 “switches” that are defined by which face of the cube is pointing upward.Let me explain: if you put the cube down with the Aqara logo facing upward, that can only do ONE function in HomeKit. If you put the cube down with side #2 facing upward, that can only do ONE function in HomeKit… and so on. So let’s say you want to use the cube as a light switch; to do this, one face would have to be set to turn the light on, and another face has to be set to turn the light off. What about rotating? What about push? Those only work if you set the cube up in the Aqara app. The problem with this is that you can’t attach any of the cube’s advanced functions to anything unless it’s an Aqara switch, plug, etc. You can’t bind a non-Aqara function to the cube from within the Aqara app.So unless your entire smart home ecosystem is Aqara brand only, don’t expect to be able to use the cube’s cool functions with your other smart home stuff. It has a very limited function when used natively through the Apple Home app.

I bought this for use with home assissant. I couldnt sync it. Went on the HA forum and some user had the instructions on how to sync it (some method of holding the reset button ) . later I found the information in the manual.
