Be careful with dosage! Works maybe too well
I purchased these because my cat started over grooming, and my vets suggestion was to give her anti anxiety meds. I wanted to try some other options first, so tried hormone diffuser first with no luck. Purchased these after the good reviews, and they work very well, cat loves the taste. The bag says one treat for each pound, and she weighs 14 lbs, so I started her off with 6 and thought that would ease her in. Not the case! She was zonked out sleeping and barely moved all day and night. The next day she only got 3, and she was still very sleepy. Yesterday I opted for 1 in the morning and 1 at night. She seemed more normal, played for a bit and then slept through most of the night. Her over grooming seems to be improved, but it’s only been 3 days.I would not recommend their dosage instructions unless you are doing something very stressful for your cat like traveling.

Too Tasty, Short span after repeated use
I started slow with my cat, he is 16 pounds. I gave him one or two and they worked so well at first. I was floored, he was an angel on a drive around the block. Next day, I had to take him on a train and I upped it to around 5. They wore off after 20 minutes, so I upped to around 12. Worked amazing, my cat loves the treats and didnât mind eating more to cope with his feelings.But then⦠I had them in a bag on a shelf. He loved these treats so much that he jumped up on the shelf and pulled them out of the bag. I came home to a cat ten times hyper than I ever saw him as a kitten. At first, I was nervous of him getting sick as he tore open the bag and ate an unknown amount. But he was fine⦠just WIRED. The opposite of the intention of the treats.Hopefully, itâs just a little intense for a night and it wears off, but beware – cats go nuts if they get too hungry for the treats.

Seems to calm him down but not fix certain stress reactions
Originally tried this for our senior cat who we recently introduced another cat to. He doesnât really like other animals so he is understandably not very happy she is here. The treats calm him down so he isnt screaming every time he sees her but doesnât fix other behavioral issues caused by stress (using the bathroom outside the litter box) I wasnât expecting it to be a cure but if youâre looking for help with the same issue it wonât fix it. He does get more relaxed after eating them though.

I have a very high energy 3 yo cat. I play with her for about 40 minutes before bed and give her 2 or 3 ofthe treats and she doesn’t jump on me or careen off the dressers until I wake up early in the morning. I have had cats for the last 30/40 years and she is by far the most active kitty I have ever adopted. I leash trained her so she can go outside.. Very effective, only one cat likes this
Only one of my cats likes this treat – luckily it’s the cat that needed the calming treats! She gobbles them down and then seems calmer. We bought these treats because she was urinating outside her litter box very frequently and the vet had ruled out a UTI. We made multiple changes at the same time, so I don’t know if the treats are the reason why she’s doing better (also got new litterboxes and more catnip and allowed her back onto the patio) but it seems to work as part of a whole.

My tiger cat wonât touch them.Cats are cats. You never know what they are going to do and these âcalmingâ treats are perfect example.I gave 8 treats to my 10 pound calico and tried toclip her claws 2 hours later. It was an angry, hissing event. I got the front claws done and let her go because I thought I was going to get maimed.I read the reviews and some folks think the one treat per pound is marketing BS. But test on your own to be sure. 8 treats for a 10 pound cat was totally ineffective for my nail clipping adventure and they did nothing for fear of fireworks.I have other RX options for the non-compliant kitty from the vet but I donât like drugging my cats. But I may be forced to go that way.The next page on this review asks me to rate âtasteâ. HTF do I know what they taste like? I didnât knock a few of these treats down with a beer! Based on one cat not touching these treats, Iâd say the taste rating is 50/50.From my experience, none of these ânaturalâ or âhomeopathicâ treats or treatments for cats work.Iâve tried the sprays and these treats. All this stuff seems like a cat company cash grab.Bottom line is that these treats are a real dice game. You donât know what will happen until you buy and try. The Cost is reasonable and my two cats love the treats.The dosage is 1 per pound per day and I followed the instructions. One of the cats (the one whose weight is 11 pounds) eats them just like any other treat. The cat, whose weight is 9 pounds, eats the 9 treats and seems to be calmer. Both are relatively the same age, like 5 years, so I am unsure if this is as effective as advertised. Maybe I will get 1 or 2 more pouches to evaluate but I am not too convinced.

For the past 4 years my cat has been pulling her fur off. I started giving her the calming treats because she is scared of everything! I saw that she was calmer and notice that there was the skin and coat treats so I tried them. I notice a significantly difference within a couple of days. She takes about 7 treats of each which is expensive. To bad the seller is not offering a discount! It has been only 2 weeks and she stopped hiding all the time and the fur is starting to grow back. Not sure at this point if it will grow since she pulled it so much that I could see all the way to the skin. She saw vets who never figured out why she did that. Over the years I have tried every meds the vet gave me and it always traumatized her when she was on any one. Letâs hope this keeps up. Only time will tell
