Great grunt call
I began looking a for a call this year to replace a good, but old wooden call I’ve been using for 20 years or so. Biggest requirement was that the call not require exhaling hard to get the grunt going. This call delivers. It takes very little effort to produce nice, soft but deep grunt calls. The external slide works great too. Really nice to not have to take it apart and slide an o-ring to a different slot.I would recommend this call! Thank you!

Truly Excellent sound
Works flawlessly. VERY easy to use, unlike some calls that take time to perfect a perfect blow. Only things that caught my eye were the groove for the lanyard looks a lil shallow for my liking and the reed slide moves a little too easily. Feels like Iâd have to hold it in the right position to keep it from sliding around. Iâll gladly overlook both those things for the quality sound this makes with ease. It would have saved me time and money buying the extinguisher first over other brands, it really is the #1 call on the market.

Killed a buck
Amazing call, mad I didnât buy one sooner. Iâve always used cheap calls and never had any success calling. This year decided to buy a nice call and give it a shot. The very next day after getting the call I had a buck and doe cruising by my stand, couldnât get the buck to come my way, so I switched to a fawn bleat and the doe turned straight for me. Shot the buck at 20 yrds broadside. Ordered a second call in case I forget my other one. Amazing how easy it is to use

The sound is good. Materials are okay. However it pulls apart very easily. I snagged my call while on the lanyard and it pulled apart with only a little pressure. Easy enough to put back together.

Adjustability of pitch is great. Casts a call in any direction you please. Loud roars to simple grunts and bleats easily. Have had deer respond to it everytime i have used it mid season going into the rut so far the year. Great value for the money. MADE IN USA. Time will tell to see how it holds up in colder temps. Would buy another.

It works!
So, this isnât the first time Iâve purchased this item, I will say the lanyard ends up getting broken/unattached with these a little too easy thatâs how I lost my first one.HOWEVER The illusion calling system is hands down the BEST system you can purchase. Itâs authentic sounding. The Deer will come to it if itâs used properly at the right times. Along with the black rack these 2 calls make a killer combo.. Iâve rattled in 10 bucks now at least in the last couple of seasons with the black rack. But the grunt call can be just as lethal if used at the correct time. Same goes for the black rack. Timing is everything. Take the time to study your area and to know the deer behavior in your area. These calls WORK!

EXCELLENT call, I’ve included examples in the review.
This call is FANTASTIC. While I can go on about the construction, what I think about the sound quality, etc., I think it would be much more helpful to give you some specific examples of how and why I believe this call is effective.I used this call this season on 22+ acres of land in 2 different stands through bow and regular seasons, which is a span of about 2.5 months around here. I watched some of the videos and tried a variety of different suggestions they had, but mostly stuck with the buck grunt and doe moan methods. Here are my results.1) During one of the first times I used the call, I managed to bring a small buck to my stand using regular grunts. It stood in the brush nearby, watching, for about 20mins. I switched to the doe moan and it looked up and quickly came out into the clearing. I got a new bow this season and, despite sighting it in, did something wrong and missed the shot, going several feet wide. Didn’t matter – this call is so good that, despite scaring it away, moan calls brought him back. Not close enough for a shot, but he stood nearby and watched.2) Next time out, back and forth with grunts and moans brings a HUGE, 10-pointer into view. When I stood, my release lightly tapped my bow and the buck turned and left. Moan calls kept him in the area though, along with 2 more deer. While the 10-pointer circled the area, a smaller buck and a tiny yearling came into the clearing, but I was determined. I switched to grunts when he wouldn’t come closer and there was an instant response – he looked right up and came closer. Still didn’t come into the clearing though.3) The 10-pointer did eventually come back, however. The call brought him in about 10mins after sunrise and I took the shot. He bolted, so I thought I missed. While I waited for him to settle, if hit, I continued my moan calls – less than 5mins later another deer shows up, apparently oblivious to the recent explosion. Took that deer too. When I got down, I was able to follow the blood trail and easily locate the elusive 10-pointer.4) My next hunt out, I moved locations and, no longer able to shoot a buck for the season, experimented with only the grunt calls. After about 20mins, a medium-sized doe came right into the clearing, making a beeline for my stand. I wasn’t able to get a shot, but every time she started the leave, the grunts turned her 180 degrees and kept bringing her right backThis call really is something else. It doesn’t just sound good to me, apparently it also sounds so good to deer that they’ll come to it, despite dangerous conditions (i.e. an arrow narrowly missing them, gunshot, etc). I liked it so much I suggested my friend buy it. No luck with it the first time out, but the second time he brought a huge doe in with the grunts.My only complaints:1) The slide freezes when the moisture from your breath gets in it. During one hunt, I was stuck using only doe moans because I couldn’t move the slide.2) The necklace is awful. PLEASE fix this on future models! The poorly-designed loop that’s supposed to hang on to the call in a groove doesn’t have a strong enough spring or deep enough groove to do so and the call calls off sporadically while walking. I lost the spring at one point in the grass, managed to find it and put it back on, only to have the cord fray and fall apart anyway.

this grunt tube is the best tube iâve ever blown in sub zero temps.the buck grunt(the only sound i use) is a perfect tone.if the call freezeâs up you can run the dial up & down to break the ice.no more pulling the call apart to make it work or strapping hand warmers to the outside.fantastic product.

This Buck call is truly exceptional. As someone who’s used quite a few, I must say the sound it produces is top-notch. It’s incredibly lightweight, making it easy to pack for your hunting trips, and the ability to make three different calls on a sliding scale is a real game-changer. You can fine-tune the sound to your preference.However, I deducted one star because it’s advertised to come with an instructional DVD, which was not included with the item I received. Instead, you’re required to download an application, watch a video through the app, and sign up. This aspect is a bit inconvenient, as I prefer having the physical DVD.That said, the call itself is fantastic. It was well-packaged, arrived on time, and performed excellently. Besides the instructional aspect, I have no complaints. I would definitely recommend this item to fellow hunters.
