Some specs for the Smith & Wesson SWF606 DUAL edged knife.
For a sub $25 knife w/leather sheath and belt clip, this knife is worth buying. The stainless steel used is a good choice for smaller knives, and the handle should be quite durable. The only flaw I can see is that the grind is slightly off the entire length of the blade which means the spine is not properly centered at the tip, off less than a millimeter. Since the blade also tapers down from it’s thickness to the point, I don’t believe this affects strength or functionality one bit… but you can see it.I’m a machinist, so I am comfortable making that call. Now for the stats that might help people decide. The knife is just shy of 8.8″ with 4.5″long blade and 4.25″ long handle, with 3.25″ of it usable, max. I have large hands and I essentially have 3 fingered grip on the handle with the fourth wrapping around the lanyard loop (.53″ diameter) and behind it. Because the handle is a uniform .68″ thick and the full tang tapers from .95″ down to .75″ and back to .95″, it is easy for me to have firm grip; sufficient for a small boot knife. Please note that the handle rides inboard of the full tang by about 1/16th”, a feature i like and I’m sure will help with durability. The blade is just under 3/16″ thick the entire length of the knife and the spine is .35″ wide for 1/2 the length of the blade, then tapers to meeting at 3.2″ making it somewhat heavy (6.3oz) and strong. I could see breaking the tip off with misuse (and then just grinding a new one), but I can’t imagine breaking the blade short of using it as a pry bar.The edge grind is sufficiently straight and even and it comes almost sharp enough to shave my arm hairs with. The knife in the leather sheath is about 9.7″ long. The sheath weighs 2.1oz, has a belt clip and is fairly simple but well made with repairable stitching, and has a metal braced snap tab.Now that you know everything about the knife, and if the weight or handle size isn’t a deal breaker, just buy it. I seriously doubt that you will regret it for the $25 it costs., I know I don’t.

Impressive knife for the price, but you do get what you pay for!
This knife is definitely impressive for the price point. It’s got a full tang, the steel isn’t too bad, the handle grips feel firm and sturdy, the leather sheath is well made and grips the knife great, the clip is strong and the blade itself was hair shaving sharp right out of the box.Like I said, it is impressive, but it does have some minor flaws; the grind isn’t centered (other reviewers also experienced this) and the handle and finger loop are slightly small for my hands. If you’re looking for an inexpensive and really decent dagger blade, then this one deserves a spot in your considerations. Just keep in mind, though, this blade is only really suited for light work such as opening packaging, cutting food and things like that. It would also be a great self defense blade, obviously, if you ever need to put it to that use. Also, if you intend to wear it as a boot knife, then I’d recommend against purchasing this knife unless you have enough eyelets on your boots, you wear cowboy boots and/or you have small to medium sized calves; it is a larger knife, you’ll need a good bit of boot to fit it and I can see how larger calves would cause comfortability issues.Overall, I enjoy this blade a lot, and I will be carrying it for a while to see how it goes.

My new Favorite boot knife
I haven’t had a boot knife in years and got the urge to get another one. I could not decide between this and the SWHRT9B, so I bought them both. They are both about the same dimensions. They are both made in China from some mystery stainless steel.Compared ro the Swhrt9b this one is far better. It weighs more and just feels very solid. the grip feels good with texture ( jimping ) in the right places. It just feels like a serious knife. I’m sure you could bend or possibly snap the swhrt9b if you tried.Ok, it’s a cheap chineese knife so why do I think that deserves a 5 star rating? Because it feels very solid with a nice sheath for what it costs. I’m keeping both knives but between the two unless weight is your priority this one is far better.

It’s a good knife. So far.
Overall a decent knife.I have fairly big hands so it’s not the best fit for me as the grip is pretty small. That being said it is a boot knife and meant to be a bit more compact witch it does very well. It’s a nice thrower but a bit imbalanced and some who wish to throw it may want to take off the plastic grip on the handle to balance it better.I haven’t really tested it’s durability yet so I can’t say if it would be good for a general tool knife yet.As for comfort it is a pretty comfortable fit as far as boot knifes go. You’ll still feel it and if not properly adjusted it will sig in your ankle but most knifes you find will. It’s leather sheathe is excellent when buttoned it’s as if the bladedoesnt move at all. And when unbuttoned the blade comes out easily into your hand. Overall I quite like this knife and will give a durability insight when that experience comes along.

Amazing quality for the price
I know the product description has the dimensions, but the knife was still larger than I expected. Itâs advertised as a boot knife, but itâs pretty big to wear in a boot, and itâs pretty impossible to clip to a boot that has any amount of padding. It may not seem like it by what Iâve wrote about it so far, but it actually is a high quality knife and I really do like it. It just isnât what Iâm looking for in a boot knife. S&W make a smaller dagger style boot knife that Iâm going to order next and hopefully itâs more of the size Iâm looking for.
