Easy Installation & Works Great
I am replacing a 1st generation Google Nest doorbell that stopped ringing. I’ve had great luck with other Kasa products, so I thought I’d give it a try. And glad I did. At a fraction of the price of a Nest doorbell, installation was a snap. Just reversed the Nest wiring changes I made to the wired ringer many years ago, added a jumper wire as shown in the installation video, and replaced the outdoor camera/pushbutton. And that was easy too as the mounting holes exactly matched those with the Nest doorbell. And with the addition of a memory card, no need for a subscription to record history. The wall plug-in ringer has advantages as you can place it where it want (assuming there’s a wall plug there), and I understand you can use multiple ringers if you want. Good quality picture and soundb quality, motion and people detection and notifications seem to work well, and no issues with Wi-Fi connectivity. I couldn’t be happier. Highly recommended.

I am an older woman and I installed this KASA video doorbell myself with no difficulty. The KASA app provides easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions. The most time-consuming part of the installation was figuring out which switch in my electrical panel powers the doorbell.What I like:Easy installation with clear instructions.I did not even have to drill new holesâit fit into the existing holes from the old doorbell.Very reasonable price (I paid $53).No monthly subscription fee.The picture quality and the night vision are very good.I CAN record video clips and save them to my phone withOUT a subscription. In both the live view screen AND the various recorded alerts, there is a red box that you can press to either record a live clip or a section of one of the alerts and when you stop recording, it automatically saves the video clip to my phone pictures.I have no problems with faces of visitors being too dark or glare, but my front porch is covered and I do not have glaring sun in my view.It accommodates a 128 GB micro SD card which is large enough to record a LOT (must be purchased separately).Pre-recorded voice announcements that I can activate at the press of a button (if I am on a phone call and cannot speak to the person at the door, I can press a button on my phone to choose one of several pre-recorded announcements like âIâll be there in a minute.â)What I donât like:The provided âwedgeâ is only a 15 degree angle. My doorbell is mounted on the side wall, so that wedge is small. I CAN see the front door area with this wedge in place, but an option for greater than 15 degrees would provide a much better viewâespecially of the area in front of the house. With the 15 degree wedge, I have an annoying view of the edge of the wood door itself.It does NOT provide a view of the entire door mat area, so I cannot always see if a package is at my door.You cannot edit the pre-recorded voice announcements.Also, I did not yet have my micro SD card when I installed the doorbell and assumed I could easily insert it laterâthat was a mistake that cost me more time than I planned. It was VERY difficult to remove the doorbell with the little release pin the seller provides. I reviewed the installation instructions numerous times and also searched for instructional videos but it still did not come off easily. When I finally got it off, it would not recognize the SD card until I did a factory reset and then reinstalled the doorbell from the start, including formatting the SD card. I was using a top brand 128gb SD card. I strongly recommend that you install your SD card at the time you install the doorbellânot add it after like I did.Overall, I think this KASA video doorbell is a bargain and I am very happy with it. My main complaintâwhich is a pretty big one if your doorbell is mounted on a side wallâis that the provided wedge should be greater than a 15 degree angle to provide a better view.I took several photos to show you.I write honest reviews to help others make informed purchases because I read reviews myself and appreciate how helpful they can be. Great field of view, 2k video and TPlink, Deco, Kasa compatibility
I got this doorbell cam to replace a model from another vendor which I previously picked up at a local big box store…I am much happier with the Kasa model and it’s great that it works within the same app as other TP link products like the Deco line and TP link plugs etc.The install is easy but you may need to drill. My mounting holes were not aligned with the template and they are holes vs slots…slots would be nice so you could avoid drilling additional holes into the home/door frame.Field of view and resolution are great. Night vision is better than my other camera but limited by small aperture on the doorbell cam. The people and vehicle detection is nice, but I make more use of the exclusion zones to record only what matters to me. Customized alerts, time controls, and more. Top notch app on top of an affordable, easy to install, high performing camera. 5 stars.Note: this doorbell cam DOES stick out from the frame more than others I’ve installed. Might bother some. Works fine for me.

Graba continuo 24 hr y marca los eventos que seleccionaste en la configuracion. Se requiere una miro SD max 128 GB. Creo que no hay opcion como los TAPO que solo grabe los eventos importantes.3. Casi 1 año y trabaja muy bien. Esta bajo techo, no se ve desgastado.4. Hay que tener paciencia con el envio. Se tardo mucho en llegar casi 10 d. El paquete llego en excelentes condiciones.

I wanted to get a video doorbell that was cost effective and did 24/7 recording without paying for a subscription. This is the perfect solution for this. I bought a 128 GB micro SD card which I put into the back of this doorbell. Amazing how much storage fits on a little tiny card these days.I am very happy with it. Install was easy. The step by step instructions in the app are simple to follow and accurate. Took about 15 minutes to turn off power, take out old doorbell, bypass the ringer, screw in the adapter, connect doorbell, turn on power, and connect to wifi and format the SD card. There are a lot of options in the app for notifications, video quality, sounds, being able to have messages sent. My kids think the new doorbell is hilarious too. I like playing the message for them that they are trespassing and the police have been called. The video quality is quite excellent. Night vision is decent too. Hoping it lasts a long time because I am quite impressed. The AI that picks up when a person approaches the door and instant notifications work extremely well.

Easy install, great camera. I had an expensive doorbell (over $200 from Lo***), but it is dead after two years. Their CS canât really help (only phone calls). I thought expensive doorbell should last longer; but it is not the truth. This doorbell is better than the one I had. I donât expect it will last long (at least two years), but who knows. So far, so good.

Me gustó mucho, funciona muy bien comparándolo vs el nest de google me gusta mucho que todo se almacena en la memorÃa interna, también el adapatador de timbre es muy bueno aunque es una lástima que no vendan por separado ya que necesito más.Lo que no he logrado es que me muestre en la pantalla de Alexa cuando alguien toca el dispositivo, creo que no te notifica de manera automática, pero da igual, para mi propósito con el chime que trae incluÃdo me funciona perfecto.

Casi todo lo que dice el producto es cierto y funciona bien, el timbre suena duro y tiene buen alcance, solo no te dicen que la compatibilidad con Alexa es muy limitada, ya que funciona solo como una cámara con sonido de 1 vÃa, entonces cuando alguien toca escucharas un sonido pero no verás a nadie en la pantalla de Alexa, todavÃa debes decir “Alexa muéstrame el timbre” y solo entonces puedes ver y escuchar a quien esta afuera pero de cualquier forma el que esta afuera no te van a escuchar, entonces no es posible preguntar ¿Quién toca?, esto solo es posible hacerlo con la App Kasa Smart en el celular, no en un dispositivo Alexa.
