It’s silicone, with a stainless steel tag that the silicone band slips into.I have a blue light engraver, and in less than 5 minutes taking my time, I had separated the silicone band from the stainless steel, marked the stainless with my laser engraver, put it back together and had it ready to put on the dog collar.YES, it is permanent. No marking necessary, only my engraver, bare stainless steel settings.I’d take a picture, but it’s got my wife’s phone number on it. Want one done with a picture? Couldn’t use them
Cute idea, but be warned, they are curved which makes it difficult to engrave. I couldn’t find a way to hold them flat and they kept moving when I tried to engrave them.

Got two of these because my kitties werenât used to wearing collars and the hanging tag would cause the whole collar to get pulled off. This had worked out well. Managed to squeeze in enough info that people will know they are indoor only cats and missed if they are outside.

I love the idea of having a tag around my cats Nick showing that whoever sees her has a mama who loves her and wants her to go home. I donât have an engraving tool. I thought I could use a permanent magic marker to put my phone number on with, but it wipes off almost immediately. I donât understand a surface or a permanent marker wonât stick. Maybe it was never designed for anything but engraving. And if thatâs true it is an excellent product. It just didnât work for me and a magic marker. It was easy to slip on and takeoff.

Could not stamp these with information nor couldn’t get my engraver to work on them. They did stretch easily over a collar and seemed durable. But I couldn’t use them and couldn’t return them as I had already attempted to stamp and engrave them.

These are extremely difficult to engrave. If you write on them with sharpies it just rubs off so theyâre probably only useful if you wrap a sticker with your contact information around the metal bitâ¦

Unfortunately these are not fit for purpose as they are hardened and brushed steel and the engravers cannot engrave them. Timpsons really tried but the result was unreadable. I sent feedback to the supplier with photographs of the issue and received no response – all 6 went in the bin! do not waste your money there are better options on here which I have since purchased ready engraved. I only bought these as I needed in a hurry but that was just a complete waste of time and money. Amazon should remove this seller/item.
