Excellent Book! Very helpful and insightful! I liked it a lot!
I’ve been a big fan of Jedediah Bila since seeing her on Fox News. I was becoming too obsessed with my phone and computer. Constantly checking social media and stuff. This book was very helpful and insightful and helped me a lot. I loved Jedediah’s writing and personal experiences about her life, her family, and her husband. It was a terrific read! Thanks Jedediah! I adore you so much!

Good read, will lead to some changes
Very good book, makes you think and Iâm taking some actions because I have read it. The book does get a bit slow at times which is why I rated it 4 stars. Still a good read and will lead was to some changes. Recommended.

Keeping Tech in Check with Jedediah Bila
Jedediah Bila has written a balanced and honest critique of online technology, bringing parts of her eventful life story into twelve engaging chapters. #DoNotDisturb is a complex yet accessible memoir that makes a case for why we should control our use of technology. Too often, technology controls its users. Bila goes into great depth, with claims that are at once alarming and convincing, about how everything from social networking sites to apps to video games are in fact addictive by design. But rather than doing away with tech altogether, Bila suggests that it is in the hands of people to exercise self-control and moderation, especially on popular SNS like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.I first became interested in Jedediah Bila upon finding out we have similar backgrounds, as Italian-Americans from the East Coast. Bilaâs political ideology differs from mine, sheâs a libertarian conservative and Iâm a libertine liberal. I enjoyed stepping outside of my usual left-leaning bubble to get a fresh perspective from a more conservative voice. Reading this book helped me to curb the total minutes and hours spent on my phone each day/week, and Iâm now officially a Jedediah Bila fan. #DoNotDisturb is a well-written and personable book that revealed I have a lot of things in common with the author. I look forward to reading her other books as well.

Very Relatable
It was a good read. This is just the kind of book I was hoping it would be when I ordered it.I got this book expressly to give to to my daughter before she heads off to school.Jedediah’s experiences should should help her self-assess her own phone use. And those ‘lessons’ will hopefully stick with her.Yes, a lot of this is ‘obvious’, but bears seeing thru someone else’s eyes to hopefully bring about some positive change. It’s easy to ignore, or not actually see, the obvious.

I found this book VERY helpful!!
I’m not “addicted” to my cell phone as much as I am (or was) to my laptop!! I’ve never been the best sleeper so, when I’d wake up, being a bit of a “news hound”, I’d get up an read various news websites, TV, or facebook. Hardly relaxing and conducive to going back to sleep in a relaxed state! After reading this book, I realized ANY of us can “disconnect” from any device and that I needed to do that. I went “cold turkey” and can count on one hand the number of times I’ve “slipped” in the last 4 or more months. It’s made a huge difference in my sleep and life. In fact, I spend much less time in general on my laptop and have honed down what I want to pursue. This book was so helpful to me in that regard, and it was written in a personal and humerous way (“Kyle”…I think most people have some sort of “Kyle” from their past!). I enjoyed the book and recommend it! :-))

A lot of uncommon common sense inside
So I found myself spending quality time with myself in the Akron/Canton airport Saturday and decided I was not going to just waste the day switching between Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and email. I had the audio version of #DoNotDisturb but decided to get the Kindle version and read and listen. I am glad I did and recommend you do the same. There is a lot of uncommon common sense for today’s unsocial #socialmedia world contained within the pages of this book. Jedediah tells her story, so you will learn a lot you probably didn’t know about her life so far, and the lessons she has learned from her experience inside the social media rabbit hole. Some you may know and just not practice and some of the information may surprise you. Either way we do all need to be reminded and learning steps you can take to take back control of your life is something we all can benefit from, and this is key, IF we CHOOSE to do so. It IS up to us as we are reminded.”Technology, like many other things and people we encounter, only has as much power as we’re willing to give it.”How much power are you giving social media over your life?I believe everyone should read this book. I am glad I did.

Dry material- more analytical than anything. I was hoping for more of a guide and experience.

Nothing we haven’t already thought of ourselves
Enjoyed reading Bill’s book but the further into it I read, the more it seemed like she was saying the same thing over and over again. In the end I felt like I was reading a conversation between chatterboxes just wanting to hear their own voices so that they themselves could understand what they needed to do next.
