Amazing Amazon find
Listen run don’t walk, these glasses are everything you read. I have had them for a couple of days, and people have asked about them, I had a man wanted to buy them right off my face. The quality is amazing and they are so easy to operate. The fit is comfortable and the price is every bit worth the product. Came with the stand and charge. You don’t have to do anything extra. I have a appointment to put my prescription in them in a few days. They come in different styles Chem them our. The voice, music and the privacy is very true. They all work according to the advertisement. Now after having then a week. The charger port is not easy to use. On the 4th day of having them the frames would not charge. The glasses are supposed to go from white to orange then green. My pair stayed on a blinking orange light, for 2 days. After taking the steps of rebooting them I asked for an exchange and Amazon was not will, I had to return and then reorder, I could not take them to a ups store or a Amazon drop off store, no I had to await for a ups person to come get them, due to the value of the glasses. This product could be great of the charger port work, I was willing to order another pair, but the expensive and the experience of having to do a return has been a nightmare. If you buy the echo eyewear it will be money well spent.

Better glasses – Terrible Alexa implementation
Coming off of 2nd generation Echo Frames, these are in every way better glasses. They fit better, are lighter, and more adjustable. Apparently the lenses are easier to install by an optometrist. There are more styles, colors, and sizes. The charging cradle is brilliant – I have no problems with it. Controls are simpler. They sound better, fit better, and look better.The problem with these 3rd gen Frames is the implementation of Alexa. It is a frustrating, maddening mess. It does not work like any other bog standard Echo device. It drops the connection with my phone when moving from WiFi to a cell network and vice versa so I have to take them off to restart Frames every time the phone changes it’s connection. This usually happens in the car when leaving home or returning and this routine is a bit unsafe. Second gen never had this problem.It absolutely refuses to recognize my existing contact list because Amazon has implemented a “VIP” contact list, which is a subset of my entire contact list that I must upload to the Alexa server anyway. Alexa on these Frames defaults to making phone calls using the Alexa communications connection like Dropping In and the calls are terrible. I can grab my phone and start a call in the phone app and Frames behave like any other Bluetooth device. However, if you ask Alexa to call anyone in your contact list that is not in the VIP list, she does not recognize the contact and cannot perform the function. Even when she just provided me excellent phone communications like an other Bluetooth device.A simple SMS message will pop in and the Frames will signal it. But when you ask Alexa to read my text message, she cannot do it and starts rambling about how many total SMS messages I have on my phone. When you ask her to send a text message all seems well but nothing ever goes out.I could continue but suffice it to say, that these are a total let down. I was looking forward to upgrading since the battery in my 2nd gen finally died, however right now I’m trying to figure out to make these a simple Bluetooth headset.

Nothing like having an Alexa in your head when you need a quick answer, hands-free call answering, music now and then on demand, and updates to lists all while doing the dog walks. Almost gave it a 4-star rating when the first unit died but customer support provided timely and effective service which is why the 5-star; just need to be cognizant of all other Alexa devices in the area or mute the frames to avoid confusion.The frames need a better charging stand; the current charger disconnects before the charge is completedâway too finicky requiring a perfect placement.Don’t walk away too quickly after placing frames on the charging stand because the slightest movement can cause a disconnectâi.e., zero charge!
