Smart plugs have been around forever, so what could be special about these? I wasn’t expecting anything new or different, but these have some new features I wasn’t expecting. First, while the manufacturer suggests you use Gosund as the app, I also found that you can pair with the more obliquitous SmartLife which worked just fine. Second, like so many other plugs, these only work with 2.4g so if you have dual system, you have to back off to only 2.4g or they will not pair. Whem O paired in SmartLife, I found there were 6 additional features that most plugs do not have, including the ability to see how good the signal strength is, and to give so modes I have not seen before. Since this is obviously a new step in programing, I am giving this the extra fifth star because it was an unexpected bonus.************** VINE Notice ************************Even though I have been given this product as part of a VINE review by Amazon, my reviews are honest and not influenced by receiving the product. Nice idea, excellent execution
I’m seriously impressed with the GHome smart outlet extender. Integration with my Smart Home (Alexa + Home Assistant, through the Tuya interface) was very straightforward and took a matter of minutes. The design of the outlet is excellent — I love that it gives you two separate outlets to control, while not blocking the other receptacle in our wall outlets.
