Prospects say
Prospects like the standard and worth of the shorts. They point out they’ve an excellent chamois and are good low-cost bike shorts. Nevertheless, some clients have reported that the fabric is just too skinny and has weak compressive qualities. In addition they are dissatisfied with the waist elasticity and design. Opinions are blended on the match, high quality, and padding.

Great Shorts
These shorts are great – sizing fits as expected also. Theyâre not ultra high end but like all Pearl I – theyâre top notch and at this price point, well worth the price. Iâm less tempted to run them into the ground as I would with more expensive shorts – so get em, use em, and when they need to be replaced – rinse n repeat. So far Iâve been rotating a pair of these every day for a few months and even with daily rinse/wear theyâre showing little to no wear. Pads are softening a little bit – but unless youâre riding every day for 30+â¦â¦..

Great value for shorts that I use for my one hour rides
Good fit and comfortable. They are light weight and the padding is adequate especially for short rides. These will also be perfect for under tights for cooler weather rides. These are not the best shorts you’ll ever own, but a quality pair of light weight shorts. I immediately bought a second pair.

Thin
Pretty nice, pad is very minimal but works well

Why would Pearl Izumi put their name on this?
Well, maybe I had my expectations too high from a name like Pearl Izumi. Considering no-name brands on Amazon provide great durability and comfort, these had to be so much better….NOPE.First thing I noticed was the Pearl Izumi logo. They gave it a weird texture making it look like it was cracking and coming off. Whatever, that didn’t affect anything so I continued to try them on.Next thing I noticed was the chamois. It was basically a piece of felt. It was uncomfortable in the 30 seconds I wore these shorts so I couldn’t imagine actually riding in these…not that I could ride in them anyway. Finally, I put them on and the fit around the legs was great. But, the waistband felt like a stretched out 20yr old piece of underwear, except an underwear band would probably stay in place better. Since there’s no silicone band or even rubber inside the waist, the shorts just slide down. That would be awesome while riding…another big NOPE.I don’t even want to try any more of Pearl Izumi’s lineup after this. What absolute, overpriced garbage

Not the quality I was expecting from PI
Definitely not the same quality shorts they were 4-5 years ago- I have had several pair, so I know. These Pearl Izumi mens medium cycling shorts use to be fabulous 8 panel shorts (far Right 2017) and a heavier gage material, full waist band the entire circumfrence of the top opening. The middle pair is 6 panel and I got them in 2019…. Today, the pair I got are tight- like a half size down, (far Left 12/2022) and they are 6 panel and a lighter weight⦠and the waistband is only partially finished/ reinforced on the posterior waist and not the entire circumfrence. Even the reflective features are getting minimalist. I like mens shorts because the leg inseam is way longer and the rise on the top of the back of the shorts is higher, so doesn’t slide down/ roll like womens do.I need to find a new favorite manufacturer- These use to be amazing cycling shorts, but not any more.

good cheap bike shorts
Replacing my old worn out bike shorts. Feels good and the padding is good.

NICE FIT AND PADDING
A very good short for moderate ride distances. A very nice fit and padding. The fit is supportive but not too tight. Once again s good product from Pearl Izumi

Thin padding
Disappointed with Pearle Zumi Iâve worn this brand in the past but this one doesnât live up to the quality that I expected the padding is one piece and quite thin.

Good fit. Decent chamois for spending a few hours in the saddle. Good value.

Ray, Jesus is the way!!! –
Estan muy comodos, el unico pero es que me gusta que el short me cubra casi hasta la rodilla, mido 1.80mts y me quedaron mas cortos de los que acostumbro usar.

Pearl Izumi padded shorts have a good fit, smallish, discrete but very effective padding. They donât ride up your leg.Highly recommend
