    Reliable and affordable
I hiked a section of the Appalachian trail with this bag, and it held everything reliably, never gave me any issues, and had good back support. Usually, you will pay out the wazoo for something like this, but it seems that you don’t need to. (depending on your needs)

    Great Pack for the money
I am backpacking the Colorado Trail for a week with some friends and I wanted to upgrade my 20+ year old internal frame pack to save some weight. My friends kept sending me sale flyers for an Osprey. Yes, I know that Osprey is a great company and known for lightweight gear – I have other Osprey products – but I just couldn’t see spending almost $200 even on sale. I came across this pack – it is even compared to an Osprey in a YouTube video I found – and decided to try it. For under $100 it fits my needs perfectly. Zippers and compression straps seem well made and sturdy. My sleeping bag fits in the bag compartment – barely, but fits, and I can attach my camp chair, compression bag with clothing and rain gear easily to the sides. I like the hip belt pouch – my old pack doesn’t have that. The rain cover is included and located conveniently to pull out and quickly put over the pack – it has elastic. With everything on my pack the rain fly is adequate, but I wish it was slightly larger. Other than that I really like this backpack. I would recommend to anyone and if you do purchase be sure to watch the Youtube video on how to adjust it for your torso – it will make a huge difference in how comfortably the pack rides. I googled the pack name and found the video. I am 5’8″ woman, regular build and was able to adjust this pack perfectly for me. I am able to get my gear and food in for a 5 night trip. I have been carrying the pack with full weight – 30 pounds – for over a month to get conditioned for the trip and it is holding up just fine. If the pack does not hold up well on the trip I will immediately re-post with any negatives.

Great pack for the price range!
A pretty decent pack. This pack fits my body (female 5’4) well-I especially liked the way the hip straps sit and that they tighten by pulling to center. Shoulder straps were comfortable and easily adjusted. Bottle holders on sides are good and sturdy and there are lots of extra straps. The size is also good for a few nights (I’ve only tried it on an overnight but easily had room for 3 nights worth of food and clothes.I liked the sleeping bag compartment and zippers seemed of good quality. Lots of adjusting possibilities and straps.I wish there were more outside pockets but could make do with the two long narrow ones. I wish the inside had another divider (in addition to the bottom sleeping bag one) but it does have a flat pocket against the back. There are so many pull strings and toggles to tighten the top of the bag-possibly too many. I may cut one off and shorten the strings as they are very long and the plastic stops are bigger than seems necessary so I may not use them. Also the pack is a little heavier than I’d like it to be. There’s an inner plastic (?) board and two outer aluminum (?) bars to give it structure and I wonder if I can remove some of that as well to cut a bit of weight.Overall a great pack for the money!

    Teton stands behind their products
I loaded my Hiker 3700 with 45 lbs of gear. For two weeks all was well, but then an adjustment strap began to tear. This was >60 days after my purchase. Too late for Amazon to replace but I contacted Teton through their website. Teton immediately sent me a replacement backpack. I’ll treat this one more carefully. I’ve tried higher end packs, but the Teton Hiker 3700 is the most comfortable and functional. I’m amazed that it is also one of the most affordable and now they have proven to have the most superior customer service. I’m sold on Teton.

    Durable and comfortable
This pack is sturdy and can fit quite a lot of gear comfortably. I recently hiked Mount Marcy in NY’s Adirondack Mountains and packed the following: 3 shirts, 5 pairs socks, 5 pairs underwear, sweatshirt, pants, food for 3 days, small pots/camping stove, isobutane fuel, sleeping bag, pillow, knife, water bottle, toiletries, paracord, first aid kit, 4-person tent (strapped to the outside). Could have fit a little more in the main compartment or strapped a pad to the outside if I needed to. The rain fly works awesome as well. My wife and I left our packs outside in what was supposed to be a light drizzle, and turned into a torrential downpour. Luckily, we put the rain flies on and put the uncovered side face-down on a rock, and they barely got wet at all. Just a little moisture on the straps and padding. Everything in the zippered pockets was dry.

Highly optimized for weight, quality, price
Kelty, Arcteryx, Lowe, Osprey, Berghaus, Karrimor, Jansport, I’ve carried them all and this is the best yet. This thing is pretty light at 4#, is stupidly easy to adjust the suspension, has decent pockets and the right amount of padding. It took some modest abuse on a 7 night trek in fair weather and nothing broke. For shorter trips it won’t be my go to. But for anything over a week I’ll be using it a lot.

Shoulder strap broke the first time I slid it off
I got this pack for a Christmas present, and let it sit until June when I wanted to start training for a summer hike. I weighted my backpack with 30 pounds of dumbbell weights, and some sweatshirts for padding. I slid the pack on and adjusted the waist strap, and got it to a comfortable position. Then when I slid it off my shoulders, I heard a snap and the entire shoulder strap stitching broke and was completely separated. The pack was rated for more weight, but it couldn’t even handle a few light dumbbells.
