It simply works with Apple HomeKit
I originally purchased a single 2-pack and was so impressed with the ease of use and integration into Apple HomeKit that I bought two more 2-packs. These are great for turning on and off lamps, floor fans, 3D printers, etc. They also have a power button blended into the right side of the plug for turning the unit on and off manually. Great product. I will buy more if the need arises.

Working great so far (some tips on HomeKit issues in review)
The pairing process was a bit goofy (it is easier to just plug the outlets in and then join the ad-hoc wifi network from the device before doing anything else).I now have these devices working 100% reliably with both HomeKit as well as the Meross App. The low price, relatively compact size, and (now that they are working) instant response via HomeKit make these a winner in my view.HomeKit Problem and Solution:Via the Meross app, everything was working great, but the HomeKit status and control was very spotty. It would work for a few minutes and then the outlet would randomly be declared “no response” via HomeKit.After a bit of research and fiddling, I realized that my network was not playing well with the low level communication that Apple uses for HomeKit. In general:- Your wifi access points need to forward multicast DNS (mDNS) between 2.4g and 5g networks- Your wired network needs to forward mDNS between the wifi devices and any wired devices you are using with HomeKit (such as an AppleTV).- If you have an advanced home network with separate VLANs for IOT devices such as these outlets, then you will need a “multicast reflector” to forward the multicast traffic from the IOT VLAN to the VLAN where your mobile devices are located (for example, your iPhone / iPad / AppleTV). This can be as easy as ticking a box in the router/switch, or it could be a very long journey.Depending on how complicated your home network is, this will all “just work without any effort”, “might require finding the correct setting in a WiFi AP or router”, or “might not work at all”.In my case, I had to go into my UniFi controller and select “Enable multicast enhancement (IGMPv3)” under Wireless Settings > Advanced Settings. After this setting was pushed out to my UniFi APs, HomeKit was working perfectly from all of my iPhones and these outlets.Update: I also had to disable “airtime fairness” on my UniFi 2.4g radio settings.

It works well and fast. Seemless integration in apple home
I am using these as outlets inside the garage to control lights. They work on the touch from the home app in my iPhone and are well integrated, even my not-so-friendly Aqara all sees them in automations. Button on the side to manual turn on and off. for the simple use that most will need, this is great at an even better price. Only thing to note is that it does not calculate wattage or energy usage. Commection is easy, if you want, dont use the Meeros app, it has zero integration to anything if you already are using another app like Aqara or Eve. Just connect direct to Apple Home kit.

Work great once you work your way through the setup.
First off I have to say that I was given these plugs as a promotional item for my honest opinion and review. This will be a pretty long review but it does have a somewhat happy ending. The Meross Mini Smart plugs do live up to their name and are small enough to easily fit 2 on a standard dual outlet wall plug. The Apple Home integration was a simple and very straightforward process. All 4 plugs show up and can easily be controlled in the Home app. With that being said, the integration into the Meross app, Alexa and SmartThings was extremely frustrating but I was eventually able to get the plugs fully functional in Apple Home, the Meross app, Alexa and SmartThings. I do not have or use Google Assistant so I cannot speak to that aspect of the integration process.I initially used the Meross app for the setup and by just following the prompts was easily able to integrate all 4 plugs into Apple Home. But, after that, I could not get them to show up in any other app including the Meross app itself. Eventually I stumbled upon a method of installation that worked for me and finally allowed full functionality in Apple Home, Meross, Alexa and SmartThings. With the Meross app already installed and after factory resetting the plugs I initially set them up using Apple Home directly by scanning the QR code for each plug. After getting them all set up in Apple Home, I opened the Meross app, tapped the “+” in the upper right to add devices and Meross found the 4 plugs. I was then able to add them to both Alexa and SmartThings. They all seem to be functioning just fine in all 4 apps except for the fact that the Meross app does not usually show the correct state of the plug when they are controlled by any of the other apps but all of the other apps show the correct state when a plug is controlled by the Meross app. If the Meross app is closed and then opened again it will show the correct state for the plug. So, at this point I would rate the physical plugs as a 5 but because of the software issues and having to jump through hoops to finally get things up and seemingly working as advertised I can only grudgingly give the Meross HomeKit version Mini Smart Plugs an overall 4 star rating but for the price and functionality in the many different apps i would highly recommend giving them a try.

    Excellent product and software
MEROSS product provides excellent plugs, switches and other products. I got so fed up with the inconsistency of my WEMO products and lack of support that I tried the MEROSS plugs. They were easy to install using the MEROSS software and I have not had one issue with them. Due to this excellent performance, I bought several switches as well a two smoke detectors.

This is really useful and I love using these. I use them to set timers with my lamps in my place. You can program things to turn on at a certain time and turn off when you want at a certain hour. You can use this for anything you like. You can also set it to detect when the sun is going down which will also turn on for example the lamp you have it plugged into.Since this is all controlled from an app in your phone, you can turn things on from far away without being home. If you are at the office, you can do it as well. This will really help with saving electricity and as well a great convenience!!

Set up with Apple HomeKit is quite easy, just use your iPhone camera to focus on the UPC code and then plug it in. Apple Home found the device with no issue. However, be aware that HomeKit does not get firmware updates so you also need to set the device up in the Meross app. The app will find the device and note it is not registered, so register it, and then walk away for a few minutes. You may need to quit and restart the Meross app to see the device added to the Meross device list. Once it is, if a firmware update is needed the Meross app will tell you and you can apply it. It’s a bit annoying that you need to set the device up in two different apps, but once done, it works a charm. This is true for this device, the dual outlet device and the Meross variable bulbs.

Bought 4 pack smart plug to use for iPhone/iPad HomeKit.Used for 2.5 months in my bedroom which has a radio-controlled ceiling fan fixture. At the 1st day. I immediately register all 4 plugs into HomeKit, but only plug in 1 unit to use in the 1st week.At the sleeping time at a winter night, the fan turn on by itself and everyone in the bedroom was cold to death. I woke up due to extreme coldness, and turn off the fan. Hours later, the room is getting very cold again. Surprisingly the fan got turn on again. For weeks days, I though this was caused by low battery in the remote control so it is randomly turning on the fan. To eliminate it, I remove its battery, and thinking we will have a “peaceful” night of sleep after weeks of annoying sleep interruption.Unluckily, the problem continue…. fan turn on itself and bedroom became very cold until everyone woke up. With many family argument, panic, confusion, finger pointing under influence of sleeping disorder, I finally narrow down to Meross smart plug. Removed it for a night, and surprisingly the fan didn’t turn on. Every regain their energy with a good sleep.Subsequently, I tested the rest of the 3 Meross smart plugs. Everyone of them are randomly turn on the fan. 1 of them even turn on the fan within 2 min after plugin.E-mail Meross Support, and received their reply next day. After few days of daily e-mail exchange, they asked me to conduct almost 2 months of testing to confirm their product design issue that is causing radio interference with my radio-controlled fan. The only thing they are doing are flashing with 2 diff firmware version with me testing the smart plugs one by one. The support turnaround time is satisfying, but the end result is not desirable.I like their product, as its plastic feel good, no connectivity issue after power lost, long range, HomeKit register easily consistently. As I get frustrated after 2+ months of testing, and occasionally they deny their plug is causing the interference, I asked for following:1. exchange with other HomeKit plug model2. pay more money to exchange with other HomeKit plug model3. full refundFinally, they refund 60% to me while still insist their plug design is flawless. Furthermore, they indicated that even if I buy other smart plug product that continue to cause my fan to turn on, they won’t refund me anymore. In other to confirm myself that it is their plug issue, I bought another smart plug (not Meross). Plug in the same smart plug into the same power output, and powering the same device, the fan doesn’t randomly turn on. So it is clearly their smart plug is doing that to my fan.I don’t totally agree that Meross plug design is flawless by comparing it with other smart plug. However, many residential home fixture are using poor quality radio-controlled product. In my case, my radio-controlled fan is not clearly listed the manufacturer name, model, radio freq, dbm, range, EMF, etc. So the root cause could be my fan’s manufacturer problem by picking a radio-control module that has flaw.I am giving Meross 4 star as they do a 60% refund and their support is responding daily with 2 attempts with 2 diff firmware ver. The plug can still usable, but just not in my bedroom.
